𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐘 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓 investigation yet and Margaret was so excited to be a part of it. She hadn’t been Lilly’s partner for very long-- four months maybe six?-- but it was quickly becoming her favorite second job. Life at the local funeral home was quiet and morose so it was fun to have something exciting to be passionate about; something uniquely rousing and thrilling. Margaret could tell Lilly was trying hard not eavesdrop on her conversation with Arnold, or maybe she just wanted to say hi, but it was kind of cute the way they were so intensely into one another. She had caught Arnold doing the same on the few cases where she was with him and on the phone with Lilly. Oh, what a love like that must be like. “Oh no no no, can’t have threats of divorce. You’re not at the alimony mark, yet,” Margaret joked with a smile and an airy sort of giggle. Taking a slow breath, Margaret paused to sip her cocoa in an attempt to warm up before turning her attention to the online libraries. They really could be tricky so it wasn’t a surprise that Lilly sometimes struggled to maneuver them. After all, one weird phrase or word and you’d be lost in a really weird limbo. Margaret didn’t mention that, though, she didn’t want Lilly completely capable of doing everything on her. Then where would she come in? The promise of have a baseline investigation and the ability to go to Europe for Krampusfest was all something Margaret was quickly becoming overwhelmed with excitement by. She had been to Europe on a few occasions, with her parents, but this? This was promising to be an entirely different sort of trip.
A finger came up to wipe at her nose and Margaret frowned at the whipped cream that had apparently been sported on her nose for who knew how long and, instinctively, she wiped at her nose once more-- just in case. “Both. Both is good,” Margaret agreed while writing down notes for when she spoke to their graphic artist. “We should do an investigation on Jonas,” Margaret teased with a light smile, “Find out where he went and why he left everything behind. He was investigating a weird creature, right? Didn’t Arnold say he became mildly obsessed with some kind of boogeyman?” Margaret asked absently.
