The irony was not lost on me as I trundled from San Antonio to New Orleans by Amtrak that it would have been quicker to have travelled by Greyhound from Austin..which is quite a bit further! Nonetheless I enjoyed taking in the Lone Star State, its flatness, its blandness, its importance to the US. Here we enter Houston’s the urban sprawl .
