A Perfect Date || Flynn & Rapunzel
Flynn made his way back to his dorm as quickly as possible, a smile on his face. This was happening. This was actually happening. Half an hour had never seemed so long before, and the trek back to his room was taking forever. Maybe it was because he was being overly cautious, prepared to protect the wonderful painting at all costs. Or maybe it was just nerves. Had he seemed too anxious to agree to have dinner with her? Had it tipped her off to how he felt? No, probably not. She hadn't shown any indication that she'd known. Taking a deep breath, Flynn shook his head. Everything would be okay. No. More than okay. It would be perfect. He would make sure everything tonight was going to be perfect. After all, Rapunzel deserved nothing less.
After what seemed like half an hour already, Flynn entered his dorm, shutting the door behind him. The grin had yet to disappear from his face as he set the painting carefully against the wall. There wasn't time to hang it now. Well, there probably was, but he wanted to be sure he was ready to go first. Worriedly, he glanced at the clock, hoping he hadn't taken too long to get back. Only five minutes. He had plenty of time. 10 minutes to shower, 5 minutes to get changed, and if there was enough time left, he could hang the painting up before heading back to pick Rapunzel up. Great.
Following the schedule to nearly a t, it seemed as if no time had passed when Flynn found himself picking an outfit. It was now that he understood what took people -- mostly girls -- so long to get ready some of the time. There was just a need for everything to be perfect, and a serious fear that nothing would be good enough. He knew Rapunzel well enough to know that she wouldn't really care, but it mattered to him. He really wanted to look his best. Sighing, he looked through the closet again. Rolling his eyes, Flynn finally pulled down a button down shirt -- those were considered nice, right? -- as well as a jacket and darker jeans. Casual, but hopefully nice enough.
Checking the clock again, he cursed under his breath as he realized there were five minutes until the half hour was up. Making sure he had his wallet in his pocket, he took off out the door, locking it behind him. The hanging of the painting would have to wait until later tonight. Flynn's heart felt like it was about to pound out of his chest as he made his way to pick up Rapunzel. Everything would be perfect. He knew that. He'd promised himself earlier it would be, but he couldn't help but be a little nervous as he came closer and closer to her dorm. Pausing he spotted a rose bush, obviously an early bloomer. Flowers. Flowers were normal for a date, right? Shrugging, he decided it couldn't hurt, and plucked one from the bush, careful not to grab any thorns. Smiling, he finally walked up to her door and knocked.
