Review #1 - SegaZine
SegaZine is a fanzine dedicated to all things Sega and presents 44 artist submissions on 64 pages. Most of which are on a single page and all are in black and white. The old tumblr page for the call out gives us the following mission statement:
”Show us what the SEGAverse means to you. Has it inspired you in any way? Changed you as a person? Do you have any good stories related to SEGA to tell us? Or do you just like drawing SEGA things? It’s all good! We’d love to see it”.
This is the end result and it’s what to be expected from a large collection of different artists - it’s diverse - and also quite interesting. There are both some excellent drawings and a few quite charming mini-comics. Of course the more you know, and care, about specific Sega titles, the more you will get out of this collection.
But is it worth ten dollars? Well truth to be told I’m quite disappointed by the low quality. This is true fanzine quality, like printed on a home machine and cut out by hand quality. For a zine that’s entirely made out of graphics a higher production value would be welcome, both to make an attractive product as well as representing the artists work in a worthy way.
The content is excellent though, with personal favorites being a comic about Panzer Dragoon by Corey S. Lewis and a short written piece about growing up with Sega by Sarah E. Hoffman. With a better production standard this would come highly recommended. I would still recommend it, especially for Sega fans, but with a warning.

SEGAzine Submission (2013)
My segazine submission. I chose to do an illustration for one of my favorite titles, Space Channel 5!
Paul said he'd make this post months ago, but he didn't haha. So, here goes!
We both have group zines up on the Fangamer site right now:
Sega Zine, with a collection of illustrations from various artists. It's all things SEGA!
Ultranimboy, with a collection of new & old memories from the gameboy. It includes music, writing, illustrations, & activities.
You can check the fangamer website for more elaborate descriptions & pricing. Check em' out~
Shipping costs update
For those on the fence about buying the Zine cause of the shipping costs: they were a little high due to an error at Fangamer. It's since been updated and everyone who bought it already got the extra costs refunded :) Thanks everyone who bought it already <3
