          “Detective Nicholas Burkhardt?” A hand extends in an offer of friendship. “Detective Hamilton Dial, NYPD. We spoke over the phone regarding similarities in the case you’re currently working on and the cold ones back in New York. Thought I’ll come by and help crack them.”

Now, the god is curious indeed, more about the man before him than the case in question. Though that isn’t to say that the case did not interest him as well. Anything he didn’t know of or about (even in the slightest) tend to interest or disturb him, sometimes both.

      “Detective Burkhardt?”

After being told who the leading detective was on this strange string of animal killings, he approached the desk. Dean reached into his coat, taking out his well-made, albeit fake, FBI ID.

      “Special Agent Clifford, FBI.”

He made sure the detective got a look at the ID before returning it to the inner-pocket of his coat.

      “They told me you were the guy         to go to so I could get up to speed         on your case.”
