A FEW YEARS AGO…

you sigh, tears running down your check. maybe you should’ve known better than to have confessed to one of your best friends months ago, just before the year ends. of course, a part of you had been worried. what if your feelings weren’t returned?
it always felt like a fever dream to you now, looking back. oikawa tooru was definitely your first love. always with his smile and endearing remarks. though none of his witts could get him out of this. your heart had dropped when you heard about him suddenly leaving through makki, instead of having him even tell you anything.
he was a good first love, you suppose, but all good things come to an end. you just wish it would’ve been in a better way.
oikawa’s holding back a sob as he finally shuts his phone off, the airport speakers turn on and give him a loud reminder it’s the last call to board the plane. he really doesn’t know what to do.
he wishes he could’ve been better for you, he could’ve done so many things another way around. but as usual, he puts his ambition first.
