this specific case is so fascinating to me because of the many layers to it lmao. her being successfully conditioned as a homeschooled xian; her leaning into christofascism, racism, and lgbtphobia; the disingenuousness that comes with hiding her real beliefs among fellow artists in what are visibly queer leftist creative communities/spaces (and i think that calculating element here is why this is inciting such an acute negative reaction; like typical right-wingers you'll conveniently try to compartmentalize your 'politics' where you can); capitalizing off of drawing black characters and characters of color while licking the boot of an imperialistic colonial country; etc.
the sad thing is like yeah yeah -- she's not the first of her ilk. people like her end up doubling down and recycling the same tired 0-awareness 'intolerant left!!' rhetoric, like shut up lol. they retreat back to their churches, their institutions, and their favorite right-wing personalities to reinforce the indoctrination and to tell them how to think. the repulsiveness and tragedy of people like this does haunt me; i'm not here to impress anyone, i'm fine admitting that. this mindset is horrific, it's bewildering, it's sad. and not enough people grow out of the hypocrisy and inherent violence of such a worldview.
