“GAMES COME ALIVE AS THE GAME AWARDS INTRODUCES THE GAME FESTIVAL, A NEW 48 HOUR DIGITAL CONSUMER EVENT THAT BRINGS GAMEPLAY TO FANS AROUND THE WORLD DURING GAMING’S BIGGEST NIGHT”

The Game Awards Streams Live on Thursday at 8:30PM ET / 5:30PM PT

The Game Festival Runs on Steam from Thursday at 10:00AM PT

Until Saturday at 10:00AM PT

With Thanksgiving being tomorrow, I think it’s time to talk about what we’re thankful for when it comes to gaming. When we really think about it, there’s a lot to be thankful for when it comes to the gaming industry. From the beautiful artwork that goes into each game, to the outstanding soundtracks we’re treated to while we play them, to the great games themselves. Each year we ask this question, my answer mostly stays the same, so we’ll switch it up a bit this time.

Best games of the decade  2011 edition

Continuing the best of the decade series we got going, now we’ll be focusing on the best games that 2011 brought us. 2011 was a great year for gaming and we were treated to a lot of great experiences. 

Here are my top 10 personal favorites.

6. Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 continued the story from the first 2 games and gave us more of that awesome 3rd person cover shooting experience we’ve grown to love from the series. Shooting felt even better and getting kills with the weapons was more satisfying then ever before. Horde mode got a sweet update with plenty of new content to keep us busy and the story was just as entertaining as the first 2 games.

Microsoft reveals Next-Gen Xbox alongside Hellblade’s sequel

It all started with an intriguing narration about dreams and how we could model our worlds in our minds. I must admit I was hoping to see a new IP but what ended up happening was one of the most shocking reveals of the night – Xbox Series X (aka Xbox Sex), Microsoft’s next-gen fridge console. And it wasn’t just a name – Phil Spencer came on stage to reveal the face of the monster.

All Xbox One Controllers will be compatible with Project Scarlett

During E3, Xbox head Phil Spencer spoke about how Microsoft’s goal is to “blur the lines between generations” (as well as the lines between Xbox and PC). Backward compatibility is part of making this dream come true but the company is not stopping there.

Recently, Xbox product/marketing manager James Shields reconfirmed that every Xbox One controller will work on the next-generation Xbox. It doesn’t matter if it was a launch model controller, one of the newer ones with Bluetooth support, or a fancy-schmancy Elite. If it worked on Xbox One, it’ll work on Project Scarlett.

Happy Halloween! Horror Survey!

Check out the first ten minutes of Doom Eternal

Similar to it’s 2016 incarnation, Doom Eternal wastes no time in plopping the player in the middle of an invasion by Hell on Earth while tearing some poor demons apart. The first ten minutes does raise some questions since the last game left us on a cliffhanger and there have only been hints at what happened to the Slayer between the two games.

The Last of Us – Part II to be Naughty Dog’s First Game to Feature “Nudity” and “Sexual Content”

Someday, it won’t be news. But we’re not there yet, so here I am to share with you all a bit of news about the highly-anticipated The Last of Us – Part II. The first game already had a “darker”, more mature tone, and Creative Director Neil Druckmann has already said – and the trailers backed him up – that the sequel would deal with even more mature subjects. Now, in the official website for the game, we can see that ESRB has already rated the game with an M/17+ classification.
