Last night I went to see We're Funny That Way #LGBTQIA caberet in Toronto with my best friend Jo-Anne Beggs and Petal, and I am so glad I did! I went primarily to see Maggie Cassella who is one of my favorite lesbian comedians. She was awesome; so funny and political! And I was impressed-ALL of the performers were so talented! Selena Vyle was so fast-thinking and made up songs on the spot; Amir Brandon had a stunning voice; and every single performer was so good! I also love that the tickets were sliding scale so anyone could attend. It was a fantastic night. . We're Funny That Way will be putting on a #LGBTQIA Caberet every month starting in September. And they will be putting up a clip or two from the show, so if you want to see it and more talented queer performers then make sure that you follow them on social media! . It was such an entertaining and uplifting night, a wonderful feeling of community, and something we need in the face of all the hate and homophobia that certain politicians spew.
