TRIVIA
Would randomly sing at the most random moment with the most horrible voice possible. Despite that, she's actually a good singer.
Her appearance was described as: A fairy tale girl who wandered into the warzone. Despite being in the military, there’s still an unmistakably feminine side from her.
She grew up with Disney and Barbie movies.
She only can sit on the left side of the car. She'll look outside the window during the trip.
She used to hate her callsign. But since Baekhyun released a song called "Bambi" in 2021, Athea loves her callsign and is actually very proud of it.
She never owns her own flat because she saw no point to buy her own place when she was deployed all the time. She already has two residence anyway (her mum's house and her family estate).
She's the type of people who cooks when she only had the mood or it was a very emergency situation.
Athea doesn't smoke. Athea only smokes when she's distressed. Only when things went really bad.
BIOGRAPHY
▶️ Early Life
Athea grew up adored and loved by those around her. She was raised primarily by her mother, Dr. Beatrix Diggory who instilled her discipline and responsibility while also showering her with love and affection. As a result, Athea developed a strong sense of independence from an early age. She lived solely with her mother until her father entered her life when she was fifteen years old.
Athea’s father, Chris Redfield was mostly absent during her early years due to his involvement in bio-terror countermeasures. Even so, they built unwavering bond despite their limited time together. Inspired by her father’s courage and sense of duty, Athea was encouraged to pursue her own path rather than relying on the influence or privilege associated with her parents’ reputations.
▶️ Military Career
Athea Diggory enlisted in the British Army at the age of eighteen despite her father’s disapproval. Early in her service, she demonstrated exceptional skills in reconnaissance and target tracking, establishing her as one of the few recognised rookies.
During an early deployment, Athea was captured by the enemy forces following a mission failure. She was interrogated and tortured for intel she didn’t possess. Believing her squad would mount a rescue operation, she remained in captivity for days; however, no such operation was ever launched.
Athea eventually escaped on her own after 10 days passed and proceeded to neutralize the enemy base responsible for her detention. Upon returning, she learned that her unit was already withdrawn from the area shortly after her capture and she had been officially declared killed in action. No rescue or recovery attempt had been initiated.
This incident marked a turning point in Athea’s military career, significantly altering her operational methods and her trust in team-based deployments.
▶️ SAS and Black-ops Missions
Within a year after her captivity, Athea successfully passed Special Air Service (SAS) selection—an achievement considered highly unusual given the circumstances of her last deployment. Despite the initial concern about her recent captivity, evaluation noted her exceptional endurance, navigational ability, and psychological resilience under sustained isolation and stress.
Following her acceptance to the SAS, Athea was reassigned to a series of classified missions outside conventional command structure. During this time, Athea’s operational profile shifting noticeably. She often favoured assignments with high-risk objectives, minimal support and mostly operating independently or in small units. While her mission success rate remained exceptionally high, her methods actually raised concerns regarding sustainability and long-term viability of her deployment pattern.
▶️ Operation: Silent Eclipse
During her classified assignment period, Athea was involved in a highly classified operation names Silent Eclipse. This mission was considered infeasible due to high level risk and limited intelligence available. Athea completed this mission alone, without direct support or extraction assistance and minimum lost on her side. All primary objectives were achieved and critical intelligence was successfully recovered.
The revelation of Athea’s role in Silent Eclipse significantly altered her position within the special operations circles and strengthened her reputation as a valuable asset.
▶️ Callsign ‘Bambi’
Between her unofficial missions, Athea’s official assignment was focused on domestic counter-terrorism operations with a new squad under the command of Captain Gerald. In 2019, Athea’s unit was tracking a group of PMC in the Northern Highland when they encountered a family of grizzly bears in the wooded area. The encounter escalated, resulting in a bear attack incident that injured Athea severely.
Athea suffered extensive wounds to her back and right side after being struck and mauled by one of the animals while trying to escape. Despite the danger of engaging wild animals, her squad engaged the bears and successfully evacuated her, prioritizing her extraction over the mission. Rapid medical attention ultimately saved her life.
Following this incident, Athea was given the callsign “Bambi”. The name was originated from a hilarious interaction between Athea with a squad member who referring the incident by saying that Athea had “almost got Bambi-ed”. The nickname stuck and later became her official callsign.
▶️ Task Force 141
As someone who actually arranged multiple off-the-record missions for Athea, Captain Gerald began growing concern regarding her welfare. In order to keep her from throwing herself to high-risk mission, he personally recommended Athea to Captain John Price, believing she might find a new purpose under his command.
Intrigued by her abilities and exceptional operational record, Price approved her placement on the roster. Athea officially joined the Task Force 141 during a mission in Verdansk in 2020, entering in for the first time as additional personnel mid-mission and serving as the team’s reconnaissance expert.
Athea’s transition into the team was not immediate or smooth. Accustomed with working alone and lack of trust, she initially struggled to rely on anyone during active missions. Trust did not form overnight, but through repeated missions and shared risk that finally led to growing trust between her and the rest of the team.
Over time, Task Force 141 became the first unit where Athea was no longer operating alone.
