My family and I are going on vacation soon and for the past two weeks school has been emptying up our bank accounts. I also went on a trip to Disneyland recently and I impulsively spent more than I should have. I feel horrible and can't stop crying.
Hey there!
I want you to understand and believe that the Lord is your Provider. He knows your needs and your family's needs and will provide in His way and in His divine timing. Don't worry. You need to take a big step of faith and believe that He will move- and He will.
Impulsive buying is difficult. The last fruit of the Spirit that God tells us to keep in step with is self-control. Self-control is hard stuff! We all struggle with self-control in one way or another, whether it be spending money, eating too many sweets, or getting angry easily.
Take time to evaluate your motives behind buying a certain item. Ask yourself if you're being a good steward of your treasures when you're about to buy something. God will nudge your heart in what is right.
Don't let guilt overtake you! Confess your sinfulness to the Lord and with a genuine heart, ask for forgiveness, and you will be forgiven. Even as believers we mess up daily, but for us who are in Christ there is no more condemnation. Praise the Lord!
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." -Romans 8:1
Once you've asked and have been forgiven, you need not feel any guilt anymore! God is merciful! He says that He forgets our sins. How crazy, right?
"For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” -Hebrews 8:12
So take heart and let God lead you. I am praying for you!
-Summer
