I know I'm crazy
Me: I know I'm crazy.
Voice in my head: Nah you're not big guy, you're fine!
Other voice in my head: Yeah you're doing fine.
Other-other voice in my head: I don't know man.
4th voice in my head: Shut up me!
5th voice: No you shut up!
6th voice: Ya know what? You're crazy.
Me: I'm crazy.

If there is one thing you've learned about the zombie apocalypse is that way too many people thought underground was safe. And to prompt other people to follow them, they just left the sewer holes open. Which in turn also meant running blind was going to cause you to fall down these dark, deep, underground 'safe havens'.
The stench from within the sewer is suffocating. Your tiny nose can't tell between what's what. It just smells awful, and that's all you can agree on. The water is a sickly color. Reminding you of how the infected look. Or how they smell. You're not even sure if you even fell into water anymore. All you know is you're covered in it, it's sticky, and it's making you want to sort of vomit. All of these things, of course, cause you great discomfort.
It's not like you wanted to stay down here. No, if you had the chance you would be fleeing this disgusting pit without so much as looking back. But the only way out is up this ladder. And with your aching frame and lack of ability to climb, you have deemed yourself stuck.
Stuck and vulnerable. While the infection doesn't cause you to mutate, you are able to carry it. You are infected. Not just in a virus sense, but quite literally. Having the teeth of zombies bury their way into your flesh, and then splashing around in practically toxic water isn't the best way to handle a bite.
In fact, you feel achy. The bites were bad enough to obtain, but the lingering effects of several make you want to do nothing more than lie down. And sleep. For a very, very long time. Where you can be safe and warm. Under the comfort of a friend's arm, or tucked snugly into another house you sneaked into. Even a nightmare would top this.
But sleep is only asking for trouble. And death. While you may not suffer a mutation, you can still be eaten. A painful process which you nearly endured during your last nap. It's left you on edge. A swarm of zombies is hard to clear. It is only by pure luck and speed that you are alive.
Yet you are scared, and very much wish not to be alive. Maybe in that heaven that the humans always talked about. It seems good, you think. Better than down here.
Stuck and frustrated, you let out a pitiful wail. In your mind, it is a call for help. In theirs, it is a cry of prey. And so they give a roar that sends shivers down your spine. You have literally seconds until they are upon you. Either you get out, or you die.
selfdefiance is here
Months had passed since Francis had left Zoey and Louis behind on the bridge. The idea of going to the island pissed him off too no end and he decided to stay behind. Now once again on the road, the biker had moved to less populated areas. Tactical shotgun was slung over his shoulcer, he calmly walked the streets of this new city. From the looks of it, he knew it was New Orleans, that damned place those Survivors they had met earlier were heading towards.
The streets were growing more clear, jets zoomed by overhead and bombed more buildings, killing Infected with the blasts. The sight of a safe house made a sigh of relief pass his lips and he sped up towards the door. His hand touched it, but the biker was shocked to see that it wouldn't budge. "...Hey!" He knocked heavily on the door. "Is anybody in there?"

Rocking chairs. Because keeping himself active is how he stays at ease, and there was always at least one little recliner present in his house at any given point in his life. In a way, he grew up into them.

If everybody were living according to his own nature, not trying to be somebody else, a tremendous intelligence would explode within you.
