Two lovely, well-rounded characters lead us on an exciting adventure which appears to simply be the beginning of many great adventures to come. I was concerned #Simon and #Catt would be nothing more than a tale of two unlikely friends learning to understand each other's differences. As the story progressed, I was afraid the story would only be about each other's families learning to love the outsider. I was pleased to find I was wrong! #WiththeCourageofaMouse, after the smart build to create empathy for each character, turns out to be a fantastic mystery, protagonist vs. antagonist, adventure that revealed more resources than the main characters knew they had. -- I absolutely love the line "She swallowed, making a meal of her fear, (…)" (p. 36).
