ask the mun about their writing: all the evens aka. 2-20
Besides writing, what other creative outlets do you have?
Not many. I’ve always been inclined towards drawing, but after watching my sister work and work at it, I thought it looked like too much work to really put myself through that. Doodles are about all I can manage, and most of my hobbies outside of writing aren’t the ‘creative’ outlet variety, more like the physical.
Have you always liked to write and at what age did you start?
Looking back now, it seems that I’ve always enjoyed writing. As a child, I would make my own ‘books’. Just pages of crayon drawings with some lines of story written with each image, all stapled together with color construction paper. Once they had us start writing a lot for school though, any desire to write on my own pretty much left I guess. I think that school with all the special formatting for your essays and things sort of killed off the more creative side to writing for me. It wasn’t until later that I found people writing all over the internet did I remember ‘oh yeah, duh, you can write for fun too’. xD
How do you find inspiration to write when you can seem to find your muse?
Music and art. Jaejoong connects to both of those things really well, particularly music with a sexual beat, not in the way of being provocative, but in the way of a nice pulse in the music. Art is good too because things with a more raw feeling, unfinished paintings and sketches, they really feel like Jaejoong to me. Tattoos too for that matter. And of course there’s always porn, I mean, it was porn clips that inspired this guy in the first place, because instead of thinking about ‘wow sex’ I’m thinking ‘wow these guys are regular people what do they do outside of work?’
How has roleplaying, specifically, impacted your life?
EMPATHY. More than anything, its certainly helped me be more conscious of empathy for others, in both an individual and group way. Thinking of what a character is going through, I’ve realized its not so different from stopping and thinking about how someone in the world is handling an issue in their life. Its not a natural instinct to think outside your own particular experience, and fiction has definitely helped me think of how other people might see something differently to the way I do, making it easier for me to deal with some difficult situations in relationships with others.
How many muses do you have and which do you relate to most? Why?
Well I mean I’m sure most people are like me when they say they have an infinite number of muses in their head, but as far as muses for roleplay, I only have two, both of which are on tumblr. Of the two, I suppose I can relate more to Jaejoong in a way, because he has quite a few attributes that actually are very difficult for me to deal with in other people! Basically with Jaejoong, I’ve sort of made him like someone you can enjoy, but that you’ll also find yourself severely frustrated with often.
Is there a quote from a piece of literature that holds great value to you? What is it and why is it important to you?
I’m laughing at this question because I’ve been so caught up in fan fiction for the last few years that I haven’t picked up a single novel (I’m trying to read the Hunger Games books - my second attempt - but they’re really not grabbing me for whatever reason, so its been slow going). My quote is going to be from a fan fic then, but really, the verse So Much Mine by wedspawn on livejournal is something I treasure as much as any good novel I’ve read. The quote was something that helped me in a moment where I was feeling very vulnerable and chaotic. It helped to remind me that there’s no fixing someone because there’s nothing broken in the first place, that you’re a different person each day, and attempting to categorize yourself to one color of personality is actually a sad thought.

What are your fears when it comes to writing online?
I really don’t have any, not when its just the writing. I of course always feel some trepidation when reaching out to other people, something I feel on a varying level in any type of social interaction, but there’s nothing to worry me about just writing and posting it here.
What inspired you to start writing?
Probably a common thing that inspires a lot of people: there are a lot of things I have felt, but have left unsaid inside me.
What made you want to join the roleplaying community?
Tumblr specific, I joined here at the suggestion of a roleplaying friend. When it comes to any roleplay community though, well, spazzing over characters and building things with others has always been fun for me ^^
Who are your top three favorite fictional characters and why?
Wow. I’m taking this interpretively because again, I’ve been reading too much fan fiction to go to characters in novels, rather than each person’s portrayal of an idol or character. So how about some older anime characters? (Because I haven’t watched anime in a while so…)
I remember being interested in Sesshomaru, always wondering what his story was, what he was thinking, the same with Byakuya, who had similar traits and situations. They were both seen as antagonistic to the main characters, despite sharing a really close bond in some way with those same characters. I always find myself curious over people who care about someone and yet do things that seem to oppose that person’s happiness. (Less in the case of Sesshomaru but yeah).
I also routinely enjoy villains. Morally ambiguous characters. I love them most typically, even over the main characters or hero/heroine, and I really don’t write for these types enough.
