“Not sure that I’d see you around these parts when the dust settled.” Neither had he thought that he was going to last this long being back in town, but watching the other approach only brought him a sense of quiet to his thoughts that were often out to get the better of him. There wasn’t much of that left, considering that he wasn’t about to think himself any better than the wrong decisions that got him there in the first place.
