Budget Beauty - Maybelline's Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in "Divine Wine"
Oxblood red is one of my absolute favorite colors even though the name is a bit morbid. I don't want to think about smearing the blood of an ox upon my lips or dying my clothes with blood to get that deep purplish-red color that has been so incredibly stylish the past few years.
Regardless, Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in "Divine Wine" ticks off that luxurious oxblood lip color that we all need in our makeup bags without costing an arm and leg (like this Tom Ford's Black Orchid Lipstick).
Divine Wine applies a little lighter and more fuchsia on the lips than how it looks in the tube. The color is applies easily and dries to a nice semi-matte consistency. It's not drying nor overly shiny and lasts for HOURS but only if you don't eat or drink. It transfers on to cups, straws, your fingers if you accidentally touch your own lips and makes adorable kiss marks on your significant other's cheek if you like to annoy them that way.
(light night iPhone pic, sorry)
If I'm not feeling up to the maintenance of a transferable lipstick I grab Divine Wine, lightly dab on the color over some lip balm and work the two lip products in with your finger to really work the color in. YOU WILL HAVE RASPBERRY-STAINED LIPS FOR DAYS. Seriously, after my double cleanse it was still effin' there. I had to rub some extra almond oil on my lips to get the rest of the pigment off.
I only grabbed one the Color Sensational colors and I'm incredibly impressed by the color payoff and creamy consistency. I think I might need to snap up Touch of Spice, Siren in Scarlett, and Craving Coral.
