"The you you are now is the same you I was in love with yesterday, the same you I'll be in love with tomorrow." 😭❤
4 years since it was released globally. Adapted from Gayle Forman's book. And I just watched it last night, Aug 30th. I thought it was a wrong move to have watched it right before I sleep.
The scenes are so dragging but not in a really bad way. But in a way that it goes straight to your soul that your hypothalamus cannot even handle what emotions to express.
First scene where I cried was when Adam Wilde had the ceiling covered with paintings collectively showing the ceilings of Juilliard where Mia would be auditioning in. He fricking put the Juilliard ceiling into Mia's bedroom ceiling! I could not control the tears, I cried buckets. My chest was aching because I was still trying to control every feels in my bones. I just thought, "is it still possible to meet and know a person like that? So thoughtful to make and keep your nerves calm because you will go to an audition or something life-changing?". Romance is not dead, people. I believe. I will always believe.
And ater that scene, I always cry whenever Mia and Adam had their moment, also with the scene where she found out she lost Teddy...after losing her parents. I, again, gasped for air because I could not breathe well at all!
"Sometimes, you make choices in life. And sometimes, choices make you."
This hit me real hard. It is true. Every single decision and choice that had been made no matter how big or small - conscious or subconscious - has led me to the very present moment I am now experiencing.
And this.
"I'll do whatever you want, just please stay. You're my home, Mia. I don't care where we are. I just care we are together. I know that now. I'll do anything if you stay."
I know it's different from the book itself. (No, I haven't read the 2-book series yet, planning to.) But Adam's line struck me. Jamie's acting chops are so good and very effective that I keep on sobbing...
I will read the books. Truly. I do not know what's gotten into me - why did I not read these and why did I not watch this before.
For now, its OST is what keeping me sane. I love the soundtrack so much. ❤🎶
