Plot Overview

Following a failed attempt to introduce angels to the idea of independent existence, Lucifer (Senku Ishigami) is branded as a traitor and cast out into hell. In the underground, the now-fallen angel falls to the grace of Seven Mortal Sins, and has his powers seal per being mistaken for one heaven's many agents. Accompanied by the aspiring Demon Lord of Envy, Leviathan (Chrome), Lucifer must retreat to Earth and fight back if he wants to regain his power and respect. Meanwhile, the greater scheme arises…

Main Duo

Lucifer (Senku Ishigami) " Demon Lord of Pride, and former renowned Seraph of Hope. He was unfortunate be banished from heaven for alleged treason and blasphemy, despite the best intentions to grand angels autonomy he believed they deserve. Skeptical, arrogant, but charming in his own way, he complensates lack of power via intellingence and charming his way into people's hearts. "

Leviathan (Chrome) " Aspiring, and later full-fledged, Demon Lord of Envy. erpent demon fascinated with angelic kind. Energetic, passionate, yet prone to horrible jealousy, sometimes even of himself. He becomes Lucifer's companion after insisting on becoming his apprentice. "

Seven Mortal Sins

Belial (Dr. Xeno) " Demon Lord of Vanity, and quite an unpleasant man at that. He's regarded as the leader of the Seven Mortal Sins, due to the prominence of his sin, and therefore behaves accordingly — Belial is self-absorbed, spoiled, and terrifyingly capable. His past life was Samael, the beautiful angel of the Old Order, and Lucifer's direct predessesor as the Seraph of Hope, who fell into hell along his lover after attempting to rebel and take God's throne. "

Asmodeus (Stanley Snyder) " Demon Lord of Lust, physical and for the cause alike. Despite what may seem, Asmodeus is apathetic towards his sin, only gets amused when genuinely interested, and tends to get frustrated when things don't go his way. He's also weak to romance and lovemaking as opposed to senseless lust, and only comfortable when it comes to his beloved Belial. Formerly known as Abaddon, the Seraph of Love, he was one of the most powerful angels prior his sacrifice for his lover's sake, to cause of whom he was loyal ever since. "

Belphegor (Gen Asagiri) " Superficial Demon Lord of Sloth. Among the sins he's the least loyal, and lives for his own pleasure of corrupting humans into inaction, he's sleazy and manipualtive. Preferring to ride a winning horse, Belphegor offers his help to Lucifer and Leviathan, under the condition that they'll keep him amused in their quest. Once an angel, Belphegor wasn't exiled, and rather fell on his own whim, as he desired to enjoy a life with little worries. "

Mammon (Ryusui Nanami) " Demon Lord of Greed. Mammon is a thrill-seeking devil, who loves victory, money and a company of all kinds of beauties. He believes the world belongs to him, and has never lost in games he offers to mortals. His philosophy is that it doesn't matter if one or both opponents cheat as long as the games stay fun, and losing still sends him into excitement. Prior Leviathan, the only devil Mammon ever lost to was Astaroth, his own brother. "

Astaroth (Sai Nanami) " Demon Lord of Melancholy. Although beautiful and capable, unlike fellow demon lords Astaroth doesn't think highly of himself. He's timid and self-conscious, a perfectionist who criticizes himself for even minor inconveniences, and overall shieds from attention. However he has a passionate side, one for technology and games, that makes him unstoppable. "

Beelzebub (Ukyo Saionji) " Demon Lord of Gluttony. A master of pests with a sweet heart, Beelzebub wants nothing but to let people drown in enjoyment, but otherwise doesn't seem to be aware how harmful the consequences of his ideals can be. He's naturally drawn to foods and light. "

Satan (Matsukaze) " Demon Lord of Wrath. An amnesiac devil who believes he's an exiled angel, although it's unclear if it's true or just his delusions. Values honor before reason, which makes him rather impulsive in his demeanor, though loyal and honorable unless provoken. His blind obedience is his biggest weakness. "

Cardinal Virtues

Michael (Tsukasa Shishio) " Seraph of Faith, Executioner of the Heavenly Plain, the Strongest Seraph. God's most trusted person. His charisma, dutifulness and politeness hide as a violently determinated side, set to execute the God's plan to ensure that only pure-hearted youth is left, fueled by his own delusional ideas about the rightous cycle of life. His terrifying strength is prime why none of angels dare to double-cross him. "

Gabriel (Hyoga) " Seraph of Prudence, Master of Waters (with preference for ice), 'Spear-wielding Moon Splitter'. Michael's right-hand, leader of the Four Cardinal Virtues. Easygoing, mellow, and the most malicious of the four, who sees God's culling on Earth as the only logical solution, at his core he's an elitist bigot. He's feared among angels and fellows virtues, but surely not respected. "

Raphael (Moz) " Seraph of Courage, Liege of Flames, Bull-Headed Shrike. Sariel (Joel Gear) " Seraph of Temperance, Sovereign of Winds, Prophet of the Old Order. He predates fellow seraphs by a good chunk of time, have been witnessed both descent of Belphegor, and later fall of Abaddon and Samael. Sariel is conservative, generally unpleasant, and tends to get verbose during heated arguments. Despite that, he's willing to show respect to those he deems worthy of his grace. "

Uriel (Taiju Oki) " Seraph of Justice, Suzerain of Earth. The youngest seraph, and the one who genuinely represents his virtue. Uriel despises violence, and seeks to change the current bloody order of Heavens. He was a friend of Lucifer's, and ends up fighting fellow virtues after joining his side, in hopes to change their corrupt minds. "
