WARNING, RARE RANT AHEAD: So apparently @Sendle offers a pick up guarantee but not one for delivery. I was expecting a package the other day, so I canceled all plans to make sure I was home to accept. The Sendle delivery guy rocks up to my house and rings the bell. Woohoo! I’m getting a treat! I head to the door. Trouble is, when I get there roughly thirty seconds later, courier man has decided to hightail it back to his van and is driving away. What the actual what?! (My teenage sons were home at the time, and they have two volume levels: Loud and louder. There is ZERO chance the dude thought there was no one home.) Then they send me an email for redelivery. Okay, excellent. Still pissed about him not delivering it the first time, but whatever. I go to fill out the online form. My tracking number isn’t recognized. Oh, this is going great. THEN I get an email informing me my package has been left with some random news agency a suburb away. Um, what now?! The second the dude left with my package, I lodged a complaint with Sendle. Since then, I’ve exchanged about 24434454 emails asking them to fix the situation, and always receive the same response from their nice but ineffectual ‘customer service champion’: Basically, “Our driver did all the right things, so now you have to drive a few kilometers out of your way to pick up the package we’ve been paid to deliver. So sad. Too bad. Sucks to be you.” (Obviously I’m paraphrasing, but my point is ZERO acceptance of responsibility, and ZERO solutions other that me going to get it ‘or we’ll return it to the sender.’ I always loved veiled threats in place of actual, concrete results, don’t you?) So, yeah. I’m still hopeful @sendle will find away to sort out this mess, but I have a feeling they will continue to react with a shrug and a sigh.
