We loved Montreal! We loved the Architecture, the Food and the People!
What did I learn in Montreal ?
-Bicycling through the city is fabulous fun
-Thw architecture is phenomenal
-Not all maple syrup is the same.
-Maple butter is worth buying an extra suit case for!
-Moose are very hard to find!
-Shopping malls are hidden underground because of the bitter cold winters.
-Frozen bananas are actually pretty yummy.
-Notre-Dame was amazing
-Eating is a national pastime.
-Getting around means walking off all the food you eat.
-French is a hard language to understand.
-Luckily the locals quickly switch to English when they see your blank expression.
-Old buildings are treasured and either restored or refurbished not torn down to make way for modern.
-There’s a church on every corner almost.
-The French settled first, then the British. Their settlements were divided by a road and they really were not fond of each other.
-Poutine is pretty good but the smoked beef is delicious.
Highlight of the trip was definitely the Sucrerie de la Montague. The history. The home cooked food. The music. @SucrerieDeLaMontague
