It had been a long day of classes, and all Marley wanted to do was curl up in her bed and fall right asleep when she got home from working on her group project. There was nothing to make her feel better about how stressed she’d been lately except for a good night’s sleep -- without any free time, she’d even been too blocked to write any new songs lately.
Not even turning the lights on, Marley tugged her shirt over her head and pulled her night gown off the top of her dresser, where she’d left it in a hurry earlier. Blindly, she crawled towards the bed, only to find a lump of a human there, already sleeping.
Marley let out a frightened squeak, but it wasn’t a totally unusual occurrence -- her roommate was out of town for the weekend, but it wouldn’t be the first time that she’d told someone they could crash there without warning Marley. Wouldn’t even be the first time they’d ended up in the wrong bed, either; Alice tended to leave a bunch of junk all over hers, making Marley’s seem much more inviting.
Turning off the light and trying not to panic, Marley’s nervous look morphed into a bright smile when she made out the sleepy figure already under her covers. “Ryder!” she squealed, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend and practically tackling him with the hug. “I didn’t know you had time to come visit this weekend! Why didn’t you tell me?” she demanded, nuzzling into him and already feeling a hundred times better.
