It is very much a strange feeling to bathe what is, essentially, a water snake. There’s that very logical, intuitive assumption that as something that hangs out in water whenever possible, he’d be squeaky clean. And yet because one munchkin decided, no, Noodle is playing in the mud too, Darcy has not only a muddy kid on her hands, but a muddy noodle too.
It’s not a terrible thing, really. There are far worse things than filling up a tub to scrub away dried mud from the people and creatures she cares about. The little guy makes it a little bit more enjoyable than it would be otherwise, blowing out bubbles whenever the mood strikes, rolling over in the water for belly rubs.
Darcy might end up just as drenched in water because of it, but she also can’t remember a time she’s laughed so hard while she was bathing anything.
And if Noodle ends up passing out in the warm fluffy blanket afterwards, well, Darcy’s taking about a thousand photos as compensation.
