Not to get all sentimental on a Tuesday but... does anyone else try to avoid goodbyes? . Like, you try not to actually SAY goodbye, but rather, like, "Oh yeah, I'll see you soon..." and then just trail off on your way?? . I feel like I started this trick years ago when I left home. . I remember I packed my belongings ~ mostly clothing and a few sentimental items to remember people by ~ and began the slow agonizing process of saying goodbye. . First to the home ~ so many memories. . Then to the student life ~ even then I knew, those were the days. . Finally, and hardest of all, goodbye to my family and my friends. My dearest friends. . I remember smiling and saying ~ oh, I'll see you at Christmas ~ or whatever... while secretly wondering if time and distance would, over time, erode their role in my life... . The good news: It didn't. If anything, I love my friends more now then ever. . Funny how, even when things change, the things that are meant to stick... do. . As we are officially coming close to only a few months away from leaving the home we've loved for over 10 years, I'm feeling the same goodbye-avoidance... making future plans so I don't actually have to say goodbye. . But, like with my family and friends, I am hopeful that, regardless of time and space, our Folly Beach friends (you know who you are) will stick. #soul #goodbye #sentimentaltuesday #home #memories #family #friends #distance #follybeach #moving (at Folly Beach, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/jenniferjgrovelifestyle/p/BvMDtVwhqM3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=rdqpji8cmz5q
