A True Beauty rant
I’m watching true Beauty, and I love all of these characters, and I was really enjoying myself. I don't even care with which guy Ju-Kyung ends up with or if she ends up alone but happy. Everyone should just be happy, especially Seo-jun. But that should be its own rant post.
What I hate is how they had to destroy another girl friendship. And over what? A guy. Of course. Just so that there is some kind of tension in the story. It’s not okay that show writers keep on teaching young girls things like that. You know how terrified I was as a teen of meeting new girls because Media taught us, that some girls are just evil bitches for no reason or stupid reasons like guys. Girls need to be taught to value friendship over boys because they come and go. And should not be fought over. And they are half as important as having good girlfriends that are ride or die for each other.
And maybe I was just unlucky with the last few shows I watched, but it seems to be the case in every story lately that female characters fight over boys.
It’s also not very accurate. At least from my experience. Because there aren’t guys as pretty as Cha Eun-woo at any High School. 😂
