I haven’t submitted in a while because I’ve come to the realization that we are a system. It took a while to accept and I’ve talked about it with my psychotherapist and remembered lots of repressed trauma,
but let’s just say it was very weird being maya fey then having an anxiety attack watching a coworker pierce ears at Claire’s then going to the stock room to cry and have an anxiety attack then all of a sudden thinking we’re sephiroth from final fantasy 7 and wondering why we’re in Claire’s all glittery and exhausted and presenting femininely 😭
Maya fey was a fictive apparently and after being friends with other systems I have come to accept this. It all makes so much sense now and explains little things like my dissociation and gaps in memory, and while yes, I am a recovering alcoholic, these things have also been going on when sober.
It all makes so much more sense but I’m just overall super confused all the time and my other system friends say it’s because I’m trying to process the fact I’m a system.
There are non-fictives too in our system but the fictives include three ace attorney characters and then sephiroth from ff7 😭😭😭😭
The media, especially in fiction, portrays systems so wrong we would’ve never suspected we were one until we talked to other systems and read up on actual research. Apparently the average patient gets diagnosed as an adult although signs showed in childhood. This makes us feel valid.
Idk. It’s just a lot to take in and now I feel a bit less odd about always having had headmates and then turning out to be alters I guess.
