ARTS DISTRICT DOG PARK

In 2014 LA Downtown News reported that the Arts District Dog Park was “a whisker from closing.” After a number of failed strategies community residents and businesses partnered with the Los Angeles River Artists and Business Association to save this 6,000 acre wedge of land at Molina and 4th Streets, and in the fall of 2014 the park was officially recognized—against this Septerhed backdrop celebrating doggie diversity. LA artist Septerhed originally studied advertising and graphic design and interned at some of some of LA’s top agencies, but when jobs didn’t follow he turned to art. Design By Humans (with many Septerhed designs available) describes him as “a mural painting madman” whose work is sometimes psychedelic and he explained the years of studying line weight and its effect. “I love art that moves and jumps and basically wrecks eyeballs. . . . Art that messes with what you are seeing is magic.” @septerhed @designbyhumans
