Happy birthday to my favourite superhero! Good ol’ Jackieboy Man!

World building stuff. The big thing is a God called Odus. Odus had soldiers made in his image. Bottom drawing is my version of Anti in his shift form. Some of the egos have close connections with Odus, having been in certain kingdoms that had worshipped him as one of three Gods on an alternate planet called Santoa.
(I posted this elsewhere a few months ago, and promptly forgot about it. But I’m going to make an effort to update this, as well as some of my other stories!) NO PLACE FOR HEROES Prologue
—————————————————————————
So you’re here for another story, hmm? I have a story for you, I always have stories to share, you can trust old Marcus on that. I’ve told you stories about the vaults on Pandora and the vault hunters who saved the planet. They’ve dealt with evil corporations hellbent on taking over the planet, and they even took down gods! There was nothing our vault hunters couldn’t do in the face of danger and the promise of treasure.
But their story ended with Pandora saved. They’ve had their adventure, and life as we know it goes on. Pandora returns to normal, our six galaxies return to rebuild what has been lost. It seems there is a happily ever after, for most people.
But what if I were to tell you that the ultimate story doesn’t end here? There are rumors, legends that have been passed down as stories of not a vault, but a planet filled with countless treasures and untold wealth. A mysterious planet, rumored to have been created by the Eridians to hold all their secrets, and kept a tight secret. Could it be another vault? Several vaults? No one knows, because not everyone knows it exists. Hell, years ago, people thought the vault on Pandora was a myth, and we were all proven wrong with time and stubbornness unmatched by anyone. Without our vault hunters’ determination, we wouldn’t have a story to begin with.
But, unfortunately, this isn’t a story for our beloved vault hunters. New heroes rise up, new friendships and alliances are formed, and new enemies are made. This is a story of greed, secrets, betrayal, trust, and a search for a long-kept secret about to be discovered, a secret that could change everything we know about life itself. Our story begins not on Pandora, for a change, but on Elpis – in a remote camp, far away from civilization. We feature a new cast of characters: a man who dreams of being a hero, a monk running from Athenas, a vault hunter in training, Atlas scientists who wish to be taken seriously, and most importantly, me.

He knows he should be asleep, but he’d spent the past two hours lying uncomfortably on the ground. The temporary shelter they’d sent up provided little shelter from the searing hot rain, but it at least kept the fire safe. Whatever food they’d had is close to running out, which means it’s almost time to go hunting again. Jackie raises a hand to his face to stifle a groan. It’d be so nice to sink into a soft warm bed, never worrying about anything...
The sound of an arrow being loosed catches Jackie’s attention. His eyes snap open in time to see an arrow flying away from their camp, hitting something in the distance he can’t yet see. Jackie can still hear the sickening squelch of flesh being pierced, causing him to wince. It’s followed by the faint, angry cry of people heading this way.
“Fucking raiders!” Anti’s voice snarls. He’s first to jump out, knife already raised up. He doesn’t run off, because Marvin’s gripping the other end of the leash, holding Anti back. “Let me go Marvin!” Anti snarls, turning back to slash at Marvin. “Lemme kill them!”
“No,” Jackie snaps. “Everyone stay here. He pokes his head out of their shelter to look up at Chase. “How many are there?” Chase is staring straight again, eyes narrowed in utter loathing. It’s an expression that still terrifies Jackie, even though it’s a sight he’s been used to seeing for months on end now.
Slowly, Chase raises his free hand, holding up all five fingers. A brief pause, and Chase holds up five fingers another two times. Jackie tenses up at that. “Fifteen? Jesus.”
Chase stares off into the distance again, then lowers a finger.
“Right, you shot one. Okay, plan.” Jackie gathers up his things hurriedly. “Okay everyone, we’ve got fourteen raiders coming this way. They definitely know we’re here now, so we gotta fight, we can’t outrun them.”
“Let me,” Anti growls. “Letmeletmeletmefuckyouletmego-”
“Marvin, let him go,” Jackie instructs. “I’m going to stand back by Chase, you and Henrik stay in the middle and try not to let any serious injuries happen to anyone.”
Marvin lets out a frustrated sigh. “Anti, if you kill all of them before I get to have any fun, I’m going to let Chase stick you in the ear again.” He unclips the leash and presses his lips together grimly, waiting for the inevitable fight.
Jackie pulls his shotgun out and pats Chase on the shoulder. Chase’s only acknowledgement to the silent compliment is a side-step away from Jackie, focused only on his task. Jackie watches him for a moment, before turning away.
He reminds himself that it’s still Chase, and that hopefully Chase will return to normal. Whatever’s gotten into him can’t stay forever, can it?
Everyone's favourite Jameson!
Really haven’t touched this for a bit, but this is where we’re at. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-lpxy2hrM9/?igshid=1767gu9kbs1uq
Yo! Even if your apocalyptic au doesn't have much out yet, you still succeeded in dragging me already so deep in it. I wanna know what happens, why Chase is like that, how in the world they put a leash on Anti, everything! I LOVE it!!!
Don't worry, I have sorta bios written out or being written out for all of them. They may not answer all the questions, but I do hope that when I get around to posting them they help!
