Danny had no idea about this whole ceremony during his 6th year of being dead, as Ember(sibling bond! :3) told him, he will get his own dragon. He found out about Vlad's dragon that way(which was fittingly bat-like.).
Danny was pretty excited to get his own dragon. I mean come on! A DRAGON!
But Ember did mention of how sometimes the dragon the ghost would get would correspond with what they were killed by if they once lived.
And Danny was killed by electricity, so he easily assumed it was going to be some kind of storm or electric dragon...
But by ancients he was wrong...
So. FUCKING. Wrong.
As the ceremony commenced, ghosts from many areas of the ghost zone(because a young ghost getting their dragon is a pretty big deal in this au.), some ghosts Danny himself have never seen!(Vlad wasn't there, no one likes him) and a lot of ghosts had their own dragons
The portal- or "gate" as the ghosts called it... Opened.
and there was a giant puff of ash... And a lot of ghosts gasped or made similar sounds....
Then, a gigantic, 3 clawed paw? Hand? Danny isn't sure, pushed out the portal... and when Danny says this thing was huge, it was HUGE.
The dragon- HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT HAD NO HEAD! LIKE NO HEAD OR NECK AT ALL! AND- IT HAD SIX LEGS?? It climbed out of the gate, where the neck would be reminded him of how a tree splintered when struck by lightning, he could see under the dark ash that it had a slight red tint, the dragon having remnants of four wings on it's back, on the haunch of the massive thing had two smaller wings....
He looked around and a lot of ghosts and their dragons had froze up... In terror.
Ember slowly walked over.
"Babypop- do you know what that dragon is?" she whispered, Danny had never seen Ember so... Scared...
"No- should I have read about dragons?" he whispered back.
"Babypop- that is a Sequoia Dragon Blight, Sequoia or Red wood dragons are one of the largest dragons and blights? They are. DANGEROUS." Ember explained.
"Ah-"
The headless dragon laid down once the gate finally closed... Danny was just left for words. He tried to speak but couldn't.
The mage ghost that did the gate opening, hesitantly walked over and gave Danny a summoning horn.
"This is to store your dragon. It's one of our highest qualities for- dragons like these."
Danny took the horn, and summoned the dragon into the horn...
Then the ghosts cheered...
Danny smiled.... He had a terrifying headless dragon now! He had no idea how to feel about that but he is so gonna rub it in Vlad's face. Or scare the shit outta him. Maybe both.
These big guys are gentle giants! Living in an Alternate world rather than our own.
Unlike many dragons. Dragons belonging to the Tree/Plant class cannot fly at all! Mainly using their wings to photosynthesize. (and small reminder! All Sequoia dragons look very different)
they reproduce asexually just like regular redwoods... But the way they do so... Is horrifying to other dragons..
The Sequoia dragon blight:
With the help of storm dragons, Sequoia dragons wouke get struck by lightning before dropping the seed, and they tend to set a forest on fire when they do so.
These versions of the dragon are highly dangerous, due from their size, the amount of smoke they produce, and how they act when irritated.
(even Blights will variate with looks)
Edit: when Sequoia dragons become blights, I imagine them acting like how the Argentinosaurus(or the Mad Sauropod) in primal acted when it was infected with the plague of madness.
