He learned rather quickly upon entering Sector Three that it wasn’t a place to be taken lightly. He’d come across a group of men who were kicking someone even younger than he was on the ground. Asking him where their money was. After intervening, they’d turned their aggression toward him instead, muttering how he could pay for the kid. He wasn’t sure how he’d already gotten himself into a mess like this but it certainly happened quickly.
He threw a punch, connecting with one of their jaws and sending them reeling back. Of course, they’d quickly encircled him, one of them grabbing his arm to throw him off balance before tugging him to the ground. Rolling across the filthy sidewalk, he came to a stop in a crouching position but was punched in the side of his face as soon as he came up. A pair of hands coming forth to grab his arms and tug them back so he couldn’t move. The man’s foot slamming onto the back of his leg so that he couldn’t get up.
“Oh... funny how you think it takes four guys to take down one of me. I guess there’s no honor among your--”
He was silenced with a punch and he was dropped to the ground, clutching at the sidewalk and spitting up a bit of blood. And it was then that they all began to assault him, kicking, punching, even spitting on him and swearing at him. But there wasn’t much he could do in the wake of the pain that pounded into his body with each successful blow. When they stopped, they all took a step back, panting and wiping sweat from their foreheads and he laid there. He was pretty sure there may have been some manner of bruised or broken rib.
“Ah... that’s it, huh? As expected of a bunch of street thugs...”
Though his bravado didn’t last long after seeing the knife that one of the men pulled out, the blade emerging from the handle with one flick of the man’s wrist, shimmering threateningly in the dim light. So, this was how it was going to end, eh? What a stupid way to go.
