The end was close, and they knew they’d probably have to fight Caius soon. Noel knew that. Of course, it was not a pleasure for him to fight against his mentor, but he knew it was the best for their world, and for the future. They had to stop Caius. He just couldn’t let the Chaos of Valhalla came to the world to stop time.

But now that his memories of Yeul’s death had come back, Noel was even more worried about something else: the visions of the seeress shortened her life. And Serah was just like Yeul: she could see the timeline. Noel wanted her to live. He even told her that they could stop their travel through time so she could live. But she refused. She wanted to save the future, no matter what could happen. Noel accepted her choice, but he was worried. He had lost everyone he cared for in his world. He didn’t want to have travel to lose her in the end, just like the others.

Noel looked at the fire they had made and sighed. He tried to talk about something else, but it was hard. When they’d go to the time gate, they’d be where Caius is. That version of New Bodhum was the last part of their journey before the final act.

“Serah.” He said, now looking at her. “If you don’t feel good... you’ll tell me, right ?” He asked. He knew there’d be nothing he could do to save her if she died of a vision, but he needed to ask. Just like with Yeul before.
