Husband is watching Handmaid’s Tale and now I be back on my Serena/June bullshit
To me it's crazy how June and Serena are SOOO different and yet SOOO similar. Two faces of the same coin, really.

I really wanted to see Serena and June as lesbians in a modern setting--pre-Gilead. I wanted them to meet, feel an attraction to each other, be single and unattached, and see where that took me. I also wanted the story set before the Sons of Jacob toppled the US government--way before, when they were starting to spread their message. Serena is a feminist, but her mother's character is based on the Anita Bryant/Phyllis Schlafly type of anti-feminist, conservative mouthpiece. And Serena will go to great lengths to stop her mother from getting her message of conservatism, racism and anti-feminism out there.
The story is complete and I'll be posting chapters every few days.
