"Tong, you think if I ever became a demon, you could just stuff me in a box and not kill me too. I'm serious don't kill me if I ever am a demon." from Autumn~
"It'd be pretty damn hypocritical of me to kill anyone just for bein' a demon." replied Tong in rather nonchalant fashion as he leans back in his seat, looking on at Autumn from behind his mask. "I may not be the exact same thing as the demon's that run around here, but at the end of the day I ain't human either." Tong was a Yaoguai, which wasn't what the people here called a 'demon', but it was similar enough to one; they both consumed humans in some way, and they were both seen as monstrosities. "Fifty steps laughin' at one-hundred steps, or the pot callin' the kettle black; all that crap, you know?"
Tong points at Autumn and continues, "Plenty of reasons to kill demon's don't get me wrong, but just bein' a demon ain't one, and you bein' a demon definitely, positively, absolutely wouldn't be one." There was a bit of emotion to those last word's of Tong's, not a lot, but it was there, the clear notion that he cared about Autumn and wouldn't be trying to kill her if she got demonized.
"But sure," Tong reaches over to the cup of wine that had been sitting on the table next to him, slipping it under his mask to take a huge gulp, and afterwards he dryly teases, "if you become a demon I guess we could stuff you in a dumb little box, if that's what you want-- might make you less of a headache in general if you're locked away all day, and I can get behind that."
