an ocean tour//serenity and cherry

Cherry did not have much of a connection to the ocean. Her grandmother was a dryad and her mother had been more than a little afraid to let Cherry near the water without proper supervision. After all, she was human. That made her a prime target for sirens. However, in recent years, she had wondered if she was wrong for keeping a part of Sammy's identity from her.
This was Cherry's first attempt to connect with the underwater world Sammy might one day need to join. Maybe exploring it would make it a little less terrifying to reveal her identity someday. Besides, she couldn't be in much danger when she was doing the tour with an actual princess of the merfolk kingdom.
The magic was impressive. She was surrounded by a bubble, which protected her from the outside elements and made her capable of speech, even underwater. It was a step up from scuba gear, which she supposed was a perk of knowing a royal. It also helped combat for the fact that Cherry was not the best swimmer.
"So, what are we going to see today? I've never been down here."
