okay but arsis desperately and awkwardly trying to make friends, any friends, at ashwood, bc he's a transfer from another base and none of his old friends will message him back and he's a big big dork and way too friendly and accommodating in an environment full of assholes arsis trying to pal around with serkova serkova having none of it bc he's a deadpan giga-snarker who is dead inside arsis cheerfully persisting anyway serkova coming across arsis curled up in a broom closet somewhere, utterly crushed and totally-not-crying-no-way-of-course-not, because his friend finally replied... to tell him that he's a weak stupid nerd who wasn't good enough for combat training and that he's annoying and needs to shut up and go away and die serkova surprising both of them by telling him to never, ever let someone tell him that he's useless and a failure just because he doesn't have the same set of gifts they do (because serkova has gotten a lot of that in his job, and he's damn good at it to spite them) arsis taking it to heart and following him everywhere after that like a goddamn puppy with hearts in his eyes because ~*~serkova-sempai~*~ serkova still being a big grump but finding himself a lot more tolerant of arsis' antics, and laying the absolute fucking verbal smackdown on anyone who makes his big dumb eager-to-please boyfriend best friend feel bad about himself arsis and serkova okay is anyone with me here
