White Day: Krantz
I know some girls who’d love a date with a guy like him, he’s so sweet!
Krantz: Bonjour! Hello, it’s me. Do you have a little time right now? It’s about tomorrow.
Krantz: I’m sorry to contact you about our meeting time this late, after I told you to keep the day free. It took me a while to coordinate it with my work… Ah, making that kind of excuse is disgraceful, isn’t it?
Krantz: How about we meet at 11 AM tomorrow? I’ll make a reservation at a restaurant for lunch. Would you accompany me to go shopping afterwards?
Krantz: All right, see you tomorrow!
(He hangs up)
You: (I’m glad it seems like everything’s okay with work…)
~ 3/14 ~
Krantz: Did you finish putting them on? Please come here and show them to me. Ah, please wear these shoes this time.
Krantz: Ahh, great! They look good on you. Yes, the clothes before were nice, too, but I think I’m partial to these ones. Designs with not too many ornaments suit you well.
Krantz: Although… Though I praise this outfit so strongly, maybe the blouse would look better in a slightly brighter color…
Krantz (to a store attendant): Excuse me, would you mind showing me blouses in this style but different colors?
Krantz (to you again): ………… Hm? Ahh, sorry! Are you tired? I ended up becoming entranced… Did I make you try on too much? Should we take a break somewhere?
You: (No, I’m not tired…)
Player Choices:
1. Just why am I treated like a fashion doll…?
2. How many more outfits should I put on…?
[Both options lead to the same dialogue]
Krantz: I mentioned that I’d like you to accompany me to some shopping, didn’t I? I wanted to coordinate an outfit that’d suit you well. (to the attendant) … Ah, you did have other colors? Thank you.
Krantz: Here, please try these on this time. Take your time.
You: (…………)
You: (… He’s praising me no matter what I wear, but this really is a little embarrassing…)
Krantz: ! Beautiful! I think I like this one the best, but what do you think?
You: (In the end, my outfit’s completely coordinated…)
Player Choices:
1. I like it
2. Krantz-san, you’re very fashion-conscious
Option 1:
Krantz: Really? I’m glad you like it! It suits you well.
Option 2:
Krantz: Am I? I really like coordinating someone’s outfit like this. I got captivated.
[Rest is the same]
Krantz: Well, let’s go buy it. (to the cashier) Excuse me, we’d like this entire set. We’d like to leave with them wearing it, please.
You: (?! We’ll leave with me wearing it…)
Player Choices:
1. Th-The entire set…?!
2. Isn’t it expensive…?
Option 1:
Krantz: ? Is there anything you don’t like? Please don’t hesitate to tell me. Especially when it comes to the shoes. I don’t want to make you wear something that’s hard to walk in.
Option 2:
Krantz: Oh my, that sounds like you’re underestimating yourself. I’m doing this because you’re worth it.
[Rest is the same]
Krantz: Ahh, please don’t misunderstand me, of course the clothes you were wearing when we met looked good on you, too. However, it’s also stimulating to try wearing different clothes for lunch and for dinner, isn’t it?
Krantz: Well then, would you like to take my hand? Shall we go get dinner?
[End]
-----------------------------
T/N: I went a little far from the original words this time, partially bc I’m tired (Don’t be like me, don’t translate when you’re lacking sleep lmao), and partially because I felt that the word-for-word translation didn’t get the right ~vibe~ across. For example, when he tells you “Please don’t misunderstand me”, the word by word translation would’ve been “It’d be troublesome if I were misunderstood by you”, which sounds way more selfish in English than what he means.
Getting both the correct word meaning and the correct vibe/implications/etc across can be. Hard. Remember that neither Japanese nor English are my native languages, but I’m doing my best to get their voices across right >o<
