Yes this. All of this. Although I liked the confrontation between Mary and Jed if only because they're finally kind of TALKING to each other (but the pacing did feel off, I'd prefer more of that and less Green family yelling)

Yeah, I just didn’t know what to make of her whole “you beguiled me” thing. I mean, she knows what he’s all about -- she was the one in the very first episode who told him that his views on race were “unenlightened.” 

And it was kind of presumptuous of her to write to Boston in the first place, certainly without saying anything to him about it -- and I doubt she informed the Major. I guess it’s just that I empathize with Jed a little bit here, too. He’s just been thrust into this position of authority (with its accompanying paperwork!) and now people are telling him that he needs to spend money (that I’m guessing the hospital is pretty short on) and, yes, he’s kind of dismissive, but not anything deserving of what she throws at him. 

I think this may just be an instance of the writers trying to create tension, and in that case, I might have rather they waited on the kissing so that we didn’t have to deal with the ensuing drama.
