List of things I hate in Inuyasha fanfics
I recently came across this fanfic author, who has really good ideas and can structure a story in very good English and good plots. So I decided to read every one of her stories and she has quite a few. By the time I was done with her stories, I had made a list of things I hate about fanfics:
1. Fics in which too much thinking is involved. Every second paragraph had someone saying something to someone and then it went like this ‘kagome considered his words. She had never thought about it this way. She needed to think about it’ and lo and behold. Three paragraphs where the character divulges into deep and emotional soul searching.
2. Fics in which kagome has zero self esteem. Like it doesn’t matter how many times she’s told, she’ll misunderstand everything and still think she’s worth nothing. And that she’s ugly. It gets so annoying after a while.
3. Fics in which seshoumaru is shown as being a warm and considerate being. NO. NO. THAT IS THE LORD OF ICE. I adore the pairing between him and kagome but NO. He is a cold, self centered sob. His eyes do not warm up. He does not fucking smile. One small smile in fifteen chapters is acceptable. A seshoumaru that smiles is not seshoumaru. Its an imposter. Kill him.
4. Fics in which Inuyasha realizes he loves kagome and is sweet and attentive and caring. NO. Inuyasha’s way of showing his feelings will be gruff, subtle, and HE WILL AVOID TALKING ABOUT HIS FEELINGS UNTIL IT IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND ABSOLUTE DEATH. Fics where he makes long speeches about how he feels for kagome make me shudder in horror.
