guys. guys. guys you don’t even understand I am going insane over how everyone is treating pyro. in the beginning of ep 4 avid still holds out hope for shelby being good and completely ignores the same possibility for pyro. this is done multiple times and done by almost all the humans . no one thinks he’s good they think he’s terrible and evil and they refuse to consider that maybe he’s just scared!!!!!!! maybe he’s just coping with becoming something more monstrous than he was before completely against his will and having to hear his fellow townsfolk threaten to kill vampires!!!!! maybe he’s trying to avoid getting killed by the arguably bigger threat of the vampires themselves!!!!!

still, when apo hid truffle they’re out searching the plains near town for it, despite it being fairly light out and having recently been splashed with holy water. they’re kind to shelby and bring all the vampires food. parental issues have finally been canonized.

everyone treats him simultaneously like a pathetic wet rag and a threat who is waiting for just the right moment to pounce, to attack, to kill. they might, if it makes them feel useful. this was a good session for him because he felt useful. have I mentioned the abandonment issues.

God, Cleo’s pov in this wild life session (session 4) is So interesting.

So you’re Cleo, and you have a long and wretched memory. You carry your betrayals from others like physical scars on your body. And finally- god, it’s been so long now- finally, you give BigB another chance. And he’s nice, he’s funny and cunning and literally a creature now, how cool is that? And you start to remember why you teamed with him in the first place, all those seasons ago. And the ice in your dead heart starts to melt.

And then, he’s talking through the ground and it’s still in the casual tone he just talked to you in and he’s helping to plan Scott’s death. Right in front of you, like you’re just an afterthought; oh, you’re in on this too, right Cleo? And you’re silent, you’re trying to message Scott but your fingers are stuttering on the keys.

And you say no, I’m not okay with this, Scott is my teammate, our ally, BigB. And you walk away, some excuse falling from your numb lips about saving Skizz from a skeleton. And then you come back to the place you’ve made a home with your allies, and BigB is planning on how to kill your allies with the enemies under your base. And that ice in your heart freezes, and it’s years ago and your blood is in the river, and BigB is chasing you down to apologize. And your heart is a lump in your throat, choking you for ever believing in second chances.

First Dungeon

this up coming session is gonna have the first dungeon crawl of the campaign and i am FILLING it with traps, there is also a timed puzzle but i won't elaborate until after session because i don't want my players to see this :)
