Thanks so much for posting about your experience on the Hannibal set, it sounds like it was great fun! May I ask how you knew they were shooting at that location at that time? I'd love to get out there and freeze my butt off for a chance to see Mads in leather, or anything else for that matter...

I’m so glad my posts were appreciated! Honestly, it’s just lucky that I came across the information for this shoot, and the previous one I visited in March. The production will usually put up notices in the area the week leading up to the shoot date, to tell people what/when they’ll be there, where not to park their cars, etc. So we just have to hope that these notices find their way online through the grapevine somehow. I have quite a few people on my facebook who are on the lookout for me, so hopefully we’ll be able to find out about more shoot dates coming up.

Why are you advertising that people should show up uninvited, presumably to demand attention from the cast/crew, who then have to indulge everyone, or look like dicks? It got so bad with other fandoms that they had to film fake scenes in public.

Hi there,First off, I'm aware of what's happened in other fandoms, I was an avid follower of Setlock in the Sherlock fandom last summer and that's where I got the idea to try and do this here in Toronto. I consider showing up to sets as a way to show support for the show, but I do understand how it could seem inconsiderate to some people who've never done it. Last March I was lucky enough to witness the filming of some of the last scenes of s2 of Hannibal. It was an overnight shoot, my friend and I were there for almost 12 hours, and in that time we learned a lot about set etiquette. We kept to the side of the action, out of the way of the cameras, trailers and crew. There was one PA who would periodically check on us and give us updates about what was going on, and never throughout that cold, wet night did he seem like our presence there was a problem. It's not at all like Setlock in scale. At most, there was about a dozen people there at one time, for about an hour or two early on in the night, but for the majority of the time it was just 3-4 of us.We aren't there to demand attention from the production team or the actors. We're there to get a sneak peek at what's to come on the show. It's so exciting that one of my favourite programs is filmed in my home city and I'm looking forward to having an excuse to meet up with other like-minded fannibals and fangirl a bit.Aaaaand if we get a chance to say hi or snap a photo of one of the actors, that's a bonus, but I'm not going to cause any fuss to make sure it happens.
