Oh How The Tables Have Tabled | Libra & Setsuna
@dreamyarcher
It had just been another walk, another day of being at home surrounded by people who were probably much too busy to sit around with him while he felt miserable and being unable to stand a lack of forward motion. So Libra had gotten himself up, gone through the motions of getting ready, and then set out at a slow meander for....anywhere. Anywhere but Ylissetol, really.
And an Outrealm Gate opened up, somewhere around that first hour mark outside the capitol’s walls, and he went through it. (There was something truly comforting about how reliable the appearance of Outrealm Gates were, you could almost guarantee they’d have a presence nearby. You just had to find them.)
The land on the opposite side of the Gate was unfamiliar and that suited him fine. It was wooded, and relatively quiet, and Libra stood around just listening for a long while. Long enough that the sounds of the birds came back and the cicada’s who’d quieted returned to a truly surprising volume. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. It was nice.
Libra wasn’t much interested in nice, so he started walking again. There was no path, so his careless steps were sometimes met with stumbling off some unseen edge. And once he stumbled down a steep incline, and laid groaning at the bottom of a hill he hadn’t realized had been hiding behind the bush he’d half fallen into.
When he stood to brush himself off, he heard a surprisingly click, and when he turned, the trap sprang. Dragged by his ankle into the air, Libra sighed unhappily once he’d stopped feeling dizzy.
