🍽️ for our characters to share a meal from matt
Lucanis wants to make sure everything is just right. He arrived early at the apartment he practically lived in these days with Matt, to get things started before the lawyer was home from work. He can't even remember when the last time he stepped in his own had been. Weeks? Months? Maybe just a quick stop to get something he needs, and then it's right back to Matt's place.
And tonight? Tonight he's there before Matt gets home because it is a special night. Spite buzzes in excitement as well, and he isn't sure if it's because the demon is feeding off of his excitement or not, it makes the assassin smile inwardly. To think it had been an entire year already since the two men had met formally, Lucanis can hardly believe it.
Perhaps an odd anniversary to celebrate, as the lawyer had Lucanis tied to a chair and was questioning him about his boss, Fisk. But that was the day that Lucanis had stopped giving up hope that something could be done about the crime boss, when he teamed up with Matt to take Fisk down. They still have lots of work to do, but at least they can do it together. And they have each other through it all.
"Me Too!" Spite chimes into the assassin's thoughts as he's checking on the last bit of meal prep and Lucanis laughs with a nod.
"Yes, Spite, you too." Lucanis replies, taking the lasagna out of the oven just as he hears the front door to the apartment opening, and his smile spreads a little bit wider.
"You're home earlier than I thought," he calls out as he sets the lasagna down on top of the stove and removes the oven mitts, taking his apron off and hanging it on a hook on the side of the fridge before he makes his way over to great Matt as he comes into the kitchen.
"I prepared something special tonight... lasagna, with my grandmother's home made noodle recipe." He says with a grin, walking over to Matt to wrap an arm around his waist and lean in to press a kiss to his lips. "I hope you enjoy it, it is almost ready. I am just waiting for the garlic bread to finish in the toaster oven. Careful, the stove is hot."
