anyway: For the OCs that have nicknames, where does the nickname come from?
hello! i am going to think of some of the special ones since so many of them have nicknames. Sorry for such a late response!

Zoey - Zoey has plenty of nicknames that are affectionately handpicked by her boyfriend, Johnny. Some include: Carebear, Zoe, Zoez, Sweetheart.
Zanshi - Zanshi's real name is Zanshirou, which translates to "Beheading(斬) Death(死) Son(郎)". So it makes since he would go by a nickname. however, his nickname comes from his adoptive family of the Kitagawas, to match with his youngest brother, Renshi. Zanshi & Renshi!
Seuk - Seuk's real name is Sook-Ja. Seuk's nickname, that she insists on being called if you don't know her; came from her parents and Kyouko affectionately calling her "Sook" and "Suki(好き)". She spells it in English as "Seuk".
Nyako - Nyako's stage name. Her real name is Nanako. Her parents gave her the nickname to make her appear more 'cutesy'. Nyako views herself, nyako and nanako, as two separate beings.
Noritake - his online username, dokuro_wanwan. Noritake got his online username from the anime, "Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan." Combined with the sound effect for "bark (wan)". Coming together as dokuro_wanwan. (or ドクロ_ワンワン.) purin often frequently calls him "norinori". a cutesy nickname that he adores. Illya helped me come up with this one.
Mercury - His real name is Mercutio. Celia, his mother, named him after a character in the Romeo and Juliet play, as it was her favorite story. Mercury goes by the nickname simply due to the fact of his little sister, Sasha mispronouncing it as a young child. So he stuck with it. She also named her other sons Romeo and Rjomi. She would have named Rjomi Juliet, but he's... well. a man!
Minty - While Minty's real name is Mingxia, which she goes by for strangers and the general public, anyone close to her usually refers to her as her nickname "minty". This is a nickname affectionately given to her by her father, Drake. Who minty was both obsessed with and loved dearly- to the point of it being some twisted form of romantic love. She believes she can keep his spirit alive by still using this childish, babyish nickname despite her mature exterior.
Kim - Kim's real name is Kimmie. Which is what her father frequently referred to her as. So, quite the opposite of Minty, she uses it as a way to rebel against him, even after his death. She used to hate her name, but now feels next to nothing about it.
Josiah - Josiah's nickname- other than the Marble Hills High School Shooter, is also a much more... endearing one. "Josi". Both his little sister, Eve and ex-girlfriend, Samara, called him that.
Keiko - Keiko's nickname that (mainly) only Noriyoshi called her was a term of endearment. "Kēki", of course meaning cake. It was a play on her name, combined with her sweet tooth!
Geno - Geno's real name is Gadar. Similar to Kim, it is another way to push back against her neglectful father, combined with factoring in her personality disorder, she belives she had some form of a 'personality shift'. somewhat similar to Nyako, Geno refers to her 'old self' with her birth name, Gadar, while her 'current self' is Geno. She dislikes her past self due to trauma.
Felidae - Felidae's real name is Flordeliza, yet another character who abandons the self that was traumatized by their parents. However, this nickname started in High school after Felidae watched the movie of the same name. It is her favorite movie. Despite this, when naming Florino, she took inspiration from her own name, just with a masculine twist.
Fuchirou - Fuchirou's nickname is Fuchi. It's been his nickname since he was a baby. A way that many people got around his...uncomfortable real name.
Carmilla - Carmilla's nickname is Carmen, something her father, Iris, frequently refers to her as. Both with sweet and uncomfortable intentions. Illya helped me come up with this one.
Beta - Beta's real name is Beatrice. Nothing inherently wrong with it, but she's went by Beta since she was in middle school. Another character who uses a nickname as a way to 'reinvent themself'. She simply finds the nickname cool!
Ak - Ak's real name is Akasha, named in a similar manner to his older sister, Sasha. Due to the hatred and vileness between the siblings, he goes by a nickname. He also goes by "AK-47", as he refers to himself as a gun. A terrifying thing once it gets in the hands of someone who doesn't need it.
And last but not least...
Cen - Here's a fun name and wordplay for this character.
A shorthand version of his real name, Centurion.
During the New Testament era, a Roman centurion was a professional military officer commanding a platoon of troops called a “century.” Cen has caused two wars and has led multiple 'soldiers' against the Daemons in Kimverse.
Also, adding to it's biblical implications, as Cen is essentially The Devil in Kimverse, with several bibical references because... that's just the type of person I am.
"A centurion was present at the crucifixion and exclaimed, "Truly this man was the Son of God". Tradition says that he became a believer after this."
This is ironic, considering the fact Cen was not only casted down for acting out in his lustful temptation, but his complete ire against his creator, The Father. A God within himself.
He goes by Cen just due to his own laziness, claiming his name is "too long to speak out."
