IT COMES OUT OF NOWHERE, at least robin feels that it does. she barely knows the kid yet she feels inclined to look over him, maybe it because she kinda does know more than she used to before. and it’s terrifying for her she can’t bare to think how it is for him. YET ALL THIS WORRY is hidden behind a casual smirk, not uninterested as it usually would be. she leans on the counter, the reply he gave after she asked what he was doing around here is sweet. could almost make her smile. she nods, understanding.  “ - we can talk, i got time, dude. ”

she knows steve can handle the counter for a bit, she slides over the counter, hands on her jean pockets, she looks at him “ what’s up ? ”

             ‘ you  paint,  right? ’   the  question  seems  random,  carter  sitting  in  the  back  of  argyle’s  van,  the  girl  previously  picking  at  one  corner  of  an  otherwise  perfectly  manicured  nail. eyes  raise  to  meet  the  boy’s,  her  expression  genuine  and  curious.   ‘ if  we  get  out’ve  this  alive,  can  i  commission  something  from  you? ’   lips  upturn  at  the  corners.  maybe  she  shouldn’t  be  thinking  about  what  could  happen  in  the  future,  but  carter  liked  to  keep  the  hope  that  everything  was  going  to  be  okay.   ‘ maybe  a  portrait  of  my  brother  and  i.  i  think  he’d  like  that, ’     @sevenrolld​.

        irritated huffs and painful winces both sound from the small strawberry haired girl.    plopped  on  the  cold  ground,  skateboard  flipped  over  on  the  opposite  side  after  previously  wiping  out  on  it.  now  icy  blues  and  rough  hands  try  to  inspect  her  banged  up  knees  through  the  torn  denim,  the  right  one  definitely  took  a  hard  fall.  skin  peeled  back  and  a  burning  sensation  just  radiating  off  the  freshly  scraped  knee,  it’s  a  pretty  deep  cut.  she  usually  doesn’t  feel  like  crying,  usually  a  lot  TOUGHER  than  this.  but  this  time  is  totally  an  exception.  but..  she  CAN’T,  not  in  front  of  her  friend.  not  in  front  of  anyone.   “it--   happens  so  many  times,  i’m  almost  immune  to  it.”  max  only  says  that  with  a  half  laugh  to  brush  her  own  lie  off,  she  doesn’t  want  to  be  a  burden  to  will.  “you  don’t  have  to.”  she’s  not  sure  what  she’d  do  anyway.  someone  helping  her  is  almost  too  foreign  of  thing  in  her  life.

jonathan’s chest ached upon seeing his little brother in such a state, one of hopelessness && panic. he could feel the tears build up in his eyes as his arms wrapped tightly around will, guiding will’s head to rest on his shoulder while jonathan buried his face in his hair. the elder byers closed his eyes tightly, taking in a shaky breath as he tried his best to stay strong the younger male. things have been so fucked since will first went missing into the upside down && their lives had been tossed to hell. 

they all tried so hard to make things like how they used to be, but it just seemed to impossible.

jonathan looked upon will with a look that looked both scolding && amused- he lightly smacked the younger byers upon the shoulder when hearing that little curse slip from his lips. they had meant to take a well meaning trip, just the two of them, so they could spend some time together. however, neither one of them took into account that they were in indiana && it was winter... so now they were stuck in some motel while a snow storm raged outside.

“You have blood on your face.”

so, it was his first time. it wasn’t as hard as he was expecting it to be, but a bit nerve wracking. one wrong move could have been a disaster. it was a little sloppy and a little clumsy, but he thinks he did all right. there was some bleeding, but he cleaned it up. that is until will comments on the aftermath—or the after aftermath, anyway.

eyes widening, mike whips around to look in the mirror pinned inside his locker door. with a sigh, he groans at the sight of the many tiny nicks littering his face. he thought he’d stopped the bleeding! grabbing a tissue from his backpack, he breaks it up into little pieces. “ this is humiliating, ” he tells the other boy, placing the small bits of tissue onto the open cuts.

mike can’t decide what’s worse: looking like a cat attacked him, or looking like… well, a fucking idiot. maybe he shouldn’t have shaved in the first place. it’s not as if he was growing a goddamn beard, but the small amount of stubble here and there was driving him insane. his dad showed him how to do it, and it looked harder than it actually was, but he clearly still needs more practice. or maybe his delicate skin just isn’t used to sharp blades dragging against it.

                          “ i swear to god if you laugh, i’ll end you where you stand. ”
