fic rec! 34K Little Mermaid AU - Puzzleshipping

Summary: Yugi is a mermaid merboy, who meets and falls in love with the prince Yami. He risks his live for the chance to live with his love, but would it work?

Comments: Oh, this is inspired by the angsty version of the Little Mermaid. Three days or you're foam unless you kill the dude version. And this fic leans into it hard. There's a fair amount of purple prose, and this will be a blast to the past because pretty much all the 2005 ff.net habits show up here, but I'm impressed by the commitment to the angst all the way to the end. It's got its fair share of fluff moments, but they're all overshadowed by Yugi thinking things like "only two days left to live!" and Yami going "am I only liking this boy because he reminds me of my mer rescuer?"
