Yellow: 7 facts about my childhood
I have lived between two different houses since before I was in school, so a lot of people were baffled by the custody schedule and I never understood why.
I was clearly demonstrating signs of ADHD as far back as first grade. First graders are squirmy, yes, but at one point my teacher had the student teacher hold me down in my chair to stop me from screwing around. So I think I won that competition.
There were virtually no bullies at my school, at least in my grade level. At least, nobody had the reputation of consistently being a dick, so when new kids showed up who WERE dicks, the difference was noticeable.
On that note, this environment led me to believe that we were all friends at my school. So when I got to seventh grade and discovered that *gasp* cliques were forming among the people I knew, I… ahem. Well, that was a dark period, let’s leave it there.
On a lighter note, I grew up on the GameCube and Game Boy Advance, and I still hold massive loyalty to those systems. Nintendo supremacy!!
We had school pets in a few grade levels, but specifically in 5th grade we, in groups, took care of green anoles, and I got to keep one that belonged to another group afterward. His name was Bam.
And… when my stepfather proposed to my mom, my sister and I objected strongly on the grounds that his cat was going to destroy us all. She hasn’t. She’d love to, I’m sure, but she’s not powerful enough.
Orange: 6 facts about my home town
It is a wonderfully unexciting town in one of the biggest counties in the nation.
We have no movie theaters. The only ones are in neighboring towns about 10-15 minutes away.
There was a big mass murder here a few decades ago and that’s all the world knows us for.
The town is cut in half by a set of train tracks, and the high school you attend is basically decided by the side of the tracks on which you live. Real estate on one side of the tracks is advertised for its proximity to that school. On my side of the tracks... it's ALSO advertised for its proximity to that school.
I'm pretty sure just about half of the town's churches exist at one four-way intersection.
... We have a Mariano's!
Red: 5 facts about my best friend
He is an insomniac.
We just completed the worst video game 100% last night. It's finally over. Apparently he had a nightmare about it, and he made me agree that we only played Yoshi's Island last night, nothing else. Other game? What other game?
He has like three or four boxes of Mountain Dew Baja Blast at his house because he decided that they HAD to stock up. No regrets.
He has an extensive collection of swords both fake and real.
And he's moving agnostic, but don't tell.
