Sevothtarte (from Angel Sanctuary)
created by Kaori Yuki
I like the detailed drawings of Kaori Yuki. Angel Sanctuary is a childhood memory of me and influenced me greatly.
I am also happy to see we share some "unpopular opinions". Like with Sevi. I LOVE HIM! He is my favorite AS villain and one of the most interesting characters. Generally, I prefer the storyline of Heaven's politics far more than the main one: just like the I find the backstories of most chars far captivating than Alexiel's struggle or Setsuna's romance. I am on Team Rosiel too: he's insane, yes, but brings the lulz and the drama, and in his sanity is more sincere than his hypocritical sister.
YESSSSSS NEEDS MUST HAVE MORE SEVI FANS! I mean, I may really dislike the way Sevi ran the realm, but NOBODY can deny that Sevi was an AMAZING FREAKING VILLAIN. Sevi MADE you hate him. AND HE LIKED IT. And then in the end even HE had his own backstory. There was a reason he became the way he did. Not many people sympathize with him DESPITE that story, but... there is something really compelling about a villain when you realize that in the beginning, they were well-intentioned people, too. Like... that's REAL. That's how things are IN THE REAL WORLD. And it's amazing to see that built within a character.
RIGHT??? Like yes, Setsuna's incest drama and Alexiel's rebellion are wonderful tales, but the socio-political struggle in Heaven, the split into Hell, the way the Evils got dragged into the whole mess... THOSE THINGS INTEREST ME MORE. It always HAS. I feel like part of this may have to do with my interest in world history and a penchant for the war films my Dad watching (and I watched by proxy). LARGER ISSUES interest me. That's the big stuff and no, there AREN'T easy answers, here. BUT THAT'S WHAT'S SO GREAT! It's good to present yourself with difficult situations like these, even if in the case of AS it's entirely fictional. It gets your brain thinking. And as long as you can keep an open mind, it's ultimately very rewarding to consider issues this large and think about what to do about them~
This is also the point where I really wish that another friend of mine, who for now I'll just call Mea, was on Tumblr~ She is a HUGE Rosiel fan (and ships Rosiel and Katan; not sure if that's your thing but she loves them and has written a series of REALLY nice stories addressing their relationship that I absolutely ADORE; I hope she publishes them online someday). But YES YES YES, that's the thing about Rosiel - his insanity is loud, bright as day. I'd venture to say he's absolutely SHAMELESS about it. And it's crazy and it's freaking WONDERFUL! And this is sort of headcanon land, but there is a part of me that thinks he's like that on PURPOSE. I mean I highly doubt he was HAPPY about his fate - aging BACKWARDS? DESTINED to lose his mind? He must have been SERIOUSLY angry and upset about this. I know I would be. I feel like when his mind starts to go, instead of fighting it? He just embraces it. He WANTS people to see his fate for what it is - horrible. And I don't blame him. /headcanon
✝ Character Introduction 016 ✝ THE WHITE-WORLD EXTREMIST
Sevotharte : The Prime Minister
The official guardian of the Great Seraphim Metatron, Sevotharte presides over Heaven in Rosiel's absence and has taken the opportunity to enforce his purification of Heaven. A cold and terrifying dictator, Sevi keeps his intentions and appearance hidden from public eye. Using his power and influence to remove any who oppose him, including the Great Cherub Jibriel and the Great Thrones Zaphkiel.
It is revealed that in reality, Sevotharte died during the First War and a woman named Lailah has been impersonating him since. Lailah once believed in the purity of Heaven, but was raped and branded impure. Sevi is eventually driven insane by Rosiel, and is captured during the events at the White Mansion. Imprisoned in a tower with her astral powers bound Lailah leaps off of the tower when she is reunited with the spirit of NidHegg.
