henry monroe was the second born of franklin and allison monroe. his father was a mechanic and his mother was a school teacher. there was nothing overly exceptional about the family, other than their love and support.
growing up, every child took an interest in something different. his oldest sister had taken a love to little league baseball, while henry found comfort on the ice. his father swears that the first time he stepped onto it, it was like henry was meant to be there, but that’s not what the old camcorder video shows.
what was a hobby turned into something more when he was old enough to hold a stick without tipping over. it didn’t take long for him to realize his talent had come from his father. according to photo of the championship team hung up in the high school, his dad was somewhat of a local legend. it was a lot to live up to, but he did his best.
there was a time where everyone compared him to his father. the expectations were set high and while the pressure weighed down on him, he never caved. that dedication led him to being recruited by the university of minnesota. it was his time there that he fell in love with more than just a sport.
this relationship ( a formal wanted connection will be posted ) lasted well past his college career. in fact, he proposed on draft night after getting picked up by the philadelphia flyers. everything was perfect at first. the move was smooth, their worlds aligned perfectly. he was happy and in love, but things fell apart over time. the fame of the game began getting to him. he was no longer in a rush to get home and there were whispers of infidelity, but it was never true. he was a lot of things, but he wasn’t a cheater. however, his marriage ended when another woman answered his phone on a night out with the team. after that, his wife filed for divorce and he didn’t have the heart or courage to challenge it.
as if his things couldn’t have gotten worse, a couple of weeks later he was alerted that he would be a part of a trade agreement. he would be going to nashville. while here, he didn’t make any waves, but he lived up to the bachelor lifestyle up until he got yet another call. he would be traded once more to the vancouver canucks.
this trade was different. what had once been a fun eighteen hour road trip would have now been an unattainable forty-seven hour drive. in the end, he didn’t have much room to complain. he was a desired defenseman and the money was well worth the transition. however, it was during this time that he purchased a home in seattle. so, during the off season, he spent time in seattle.
at the age of thirty-four, which, in hockey years, felt more like one hundred, he made his final trade of his career. he played for 2021-2022 season before calling it quits.
when he moved to seattle full time for his final season, he put his spare time into the penalty box. with the help of others, it’s been going strong for two years now.

A silver-spoon upbringing, only ever knowing a life of luxuries. Anything and everything she desired was given to her, regardless of cost.
Parents showered their daughter in love, failing to ever be absent, especially when it came to momentous occasions.

Since the incident at her first home, Mila finds it impossible to sleep alone. She does not have to have someone physically next to her, but in the same house/apartment. There are occasions, when she is having a hard day, when she feels that she needs someone besides her. It takes someone she is really close to, as it is when she is at her most vulnerable.
Being from wealth and never fully understanding the concept of expense, Mila is known to be overly generous. For those she is friends with, she is known to spoil them, whether that is with gifts, or dinner time dates. Anything that has a price tag on, she does not hesitate to cover the fee. Even if the other member of the party is fully capable for covering their cost.
Despite having what seems to be unlimited funds to decorate her home, it is not overly luxurious. She does not tend to care about whether an item is more expensive than another, only if it fits to her personal tastes. Most of the artwork hanging on walls is her own, or other artist friends, and potted plants are her go-to decoration.
Despite coming across as childlike, Mila is a hard worker and puts her all into everything she does. Sometimes forgetting to prioritise herself over work. HISTORY.
With a pair of psychics for parents, it was safe to say that Rocky's childhood was more than unconventional. It wasn't like his parents claimed to be able to talk to the dead—unless it was a tourist in the French Quarter asking. It was more like they always just knew things that they shouldn't. It was little things, like knowing the grades on his report card before he even arrived home from school to show them, knowing when they had a visitor before the doorbell could even be pressed and even on occasion, much to Rocky's dismay, being able to understand his thoughts better than he could.
It never bothered Rocky much, having parents who were otherwise deemed bizarre and kooky by other peoples standards, until his teenage years. It wasn't until after he had long left New Orleans at the age of five, when his aunt had fallen ill—they were already packing their bags before Atticus had received the call from his brother—and his family moved to Seattle, Washington that his parents livelihood became something he felt embarrassed or ashamed of.
While his parents had found their calling in the paranormal, the more Rocky grew up and the more he found himself questioning his parents abilities more often and instead of seeking out answers in the unknown he was more drawn to the science of it all. Cold, hard facts. Proof. Evidence. That was what Rocky needed. He wasn't as free-spirited as the rest of his family, despite his best efforts to try and be more like them.
It would often make Rocky feel like a spare part in his family, like something was missing inside of him that nobody else seemed to be missing. His parents had their gifts, his aunt and uncle were Reiki Masters and even his cousin seemed to be able to slip in and out of different characters as she chose. All that Rocky had was himself—and his brain.
It turned out that Rocky was smart, incredibly smart, actually. Dina Emerson Thomas grew up in a suburb of Houston, Texas in a huge tight-knit family that's been part of the community for decades. Her father, Maxwell, worked as a semi-truck driver for touring artists whereas her mother, Samira, was a homemaker. Her father made a name of himself within his industry, and he brought up his three children up in a good home. Dina was the name from of her great-grandmother on her mother's side, and Emerson was her paternal great-grandmother's name. So many traditional names were inherited, so it was almost as if she had a lot to live up to.
Being the baby of the family as well as the only girl meant that Dina grew up somewhat spoiled and protected. Though, she wasn't protected in the way of being sheltered. Instead, her family helped her learn to stand up for herself. They wanted to protect her, but they also knew that they wouldn't be around all the time. So instead of fending off people who might hurt her, they gave her the tools necessary to defend herself.
While her father and brothers taught her to be tough, her mother taught her to be classy and elegant. Her mother taught her to be sensitive to others and empathetic to their issues. She also taught her to love the softer things in life and made sure that Dina was aware that being a free-spoken woman didn't mean she couldn't embrace her childlike wonder or romantic side. Growing up in a well rounded environment allowed her to become the woman she is today - a lovely mix of sweet and sassy, confident and independent, caring but not too naive.
Dina did fairly well in school because there was always someone to ask for help when it came to her school work. What she didn't do well at, surprisingly, was social interaction. As outgoing as her family members seemed to be, Dina was a bit more on the reserved side in public and chose to stick to herself or the one or two friends she made that moved with her through school. Her parents worried a bit about her development, but eventually gave up, figuring she'd come into her own and break out of her shell when she was ready.
Dina was never really that rebellious teenager that would sneak out in the middle of the night, but she never did adhere to a curfew. She often came home later than she was supposed to only to get yelled at in the morning. She would excuse herself by telling them she had a poor sense of time, which didn't really work. Her parents were never awfully strict though, so they would forget about it later on. They knew she wasn't going out doing drugs. That was something she never experimented with.
Entering into high school was a bit scary for Dina. Everyone was talking about crushes on boys while she looked around and had crushes on boys and girls. Not knowing what she was feeling, she talked to her parents about it and they reassured her that they would love her no matter what. It allowed Dina to feel comfortable about exploring her feelings without worrying about if she would be unaccepted. After dating a few different people, she knew she was pansexual and felt comfortable with finally labeling herself.
When it came time to apply to college, Dina knew that she wanted to go into something that was in journalism. Her passion for telling stories kicked into high gear after spending her years in high school behind an anchor desk for the school's news, and getting the feel of what it would be like to be a broadcast journalist. After looking through her options, she settled on going to school in Missouri and eventually graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Afterwards, she accepted an offer from a local station in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked hard to gain respect. In the mean time, she fell in love with Sunny Fletcher and soon found herself in a serious relationship. However, Dina called it quits after many years into their relationship when she began to feel like she was an afterthought to Sunny, not wanting to be in a relationship that mirrored her parents where she spent more time missing her partner than being with them.
Dina spent her first night after the breakup in bed, crying. She realized that she was terrified of being alone. Before the breakup, she felt like her life had been set in stone for her by Sunny's job and had too much pride to tell her ex-girlfriend how she really felt. But Dina looked at her life and kept pushing forward. Her mother started nagging her about the life that she had given up. Her father tried to support her as much as possible since she was still his little girl.
After spending many years in Atlanta, Dina felt like she needed a change of scenery to help her feel like herself again. She was ready to try to be happier in a place that didn't have memories tied to her ex. And so, Dina picked a spot on the map and drove to Seattle and wanted to make a name for herself. It wasn't long before she got a job offer to replace one of the evening news anchors who worked at King 5 News before she did. Dina moved into a small place in Finch Park and started subletting her place in Atlanta after she left it. Seattle was going to be her new home.
Now she's trying to make her life happier by going out and shedding the life she had in Atlanta. Granted, she sounds like a definite outsider in this big city. Maybe she would be better off staying in Atlanta and powering through it, but she has a plan. That plan: just be happier. Though, to be honest, asking her to describe how she truly feels at any given time would be a disaster and while she is always happy to put on the mask - whoever was necessary to be - it never feels completely natural. But she is good at hiding her emotions.
It's only been a year after their breakup and Dina is still feeling some remnants of their relationship. Dina is coping with life on her own and sometimes she gets mad at herself as she could have been making lifelong plans with Sunny by now, but she pulls herself together. And in this new environment, she's already working on getting the most out of the city. But there's one thing she forgot about Seattle before she took the leap... Sunny Fletcher also lives in the city.

She's not a super great cook and when she knows she has to be a host, she brings home carry out and fixes them up a bit and makes them kinda fancy. Other than that, she's usually dining on takeout. That also means that she's looking forward to enjoying and exploring Seattle's exploding restaurant scene.

She has trouble expressing her emotions in a positive way. Meaning that she tends to avoid them and how she feels sometimes until they bottle up and explode, leading to arguments with loved ones where she doesn't have the words to express how she feels. She's a lot more sensitive than she lets on. The kind of person that would cry and then five minutes later be like "well, that was embarrassing as fucking shit, so let's never mention it again." So… she leaves. Which is how she ended up in Seattle, to be honest.
She will do anything if it's a dare/competition, case and point: reigning champion at an Atlanta restaurant for eating the most hot dogs in two minutes (and she's literally so proud about it).
Dina says she likes scary movies but actually ends up hiding her face in someone's chest for the entire movie… literally. She peeks out and then hides again. It's pathetic.
She used to help out with her grandmother's yard sales and would hustle people for twice their money on items that she had an attachment to.

PLOTTING + WANTED CONNECTIONS
PLATONIC
Okay, so, Dina is new in town. She's extremely quiet, but she's friendly. She's not one to go out and actively search for people/friends, but she's an absolute sweetheart so she'd be more than open to friendships with as many people as possible. She works as an evening news anchor for King 5 News, but she spends most of her time in Seattle trying to make her life over, so really if anyone is willing to go out on a limb and make her their friend, she would literally do anything they want. That's just how she makes friends. Her friends, however, are going to have to be able to deal with someone who may literally lock herself in her house with a large pizza and not speak to anyone for days. Also, her friends will have to deal with her going a little overboard on making people happy. Overall, she has a good reputation and she's very affectionate and caring. Once someone is in her heart, they have a place in it forever.
While she can sometimes be a tad too intrusive, she rarely shares much about herself that she considers too 'heavy'. The kind of person that would suggest waving away issues instead of confronting them (or just jumping in headfirst without much thought), she's probably not the best person to go to for solid advice but she does a good enough job of making those she cares about feel better, even if it's only for a little while.
Surprisingly not that big on the party scene, but she does frequent such spaces since she likes having the company around, so she's probably gathered a fair amount of party friends during her stay here.
ANTAGONISTIC
As easy as it is for Dina to try and befriend people, it might be even easier for her to rub people the wrong way. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not. And while it unfortunately isn't too hard for her to fall out of contact with friends, keeping enemies is something that she's far better at doing. She's got a knack for holding grudges and being a pain in the ass.
Peace, love, more tolerance… is what Dina would say if some people didn't make her eyes roll into the back of her head more times than she could count, if she bothered to count at all. Every now and again, Dina has these moments when she's so eager to argue with someone that she could jump into arguments she has no place being in, largely because she can never keep her opinions to herself. And why should she? In her mind, everything she says is brilliant and also the cold hard truth, and anyone that says otherwise should be ready to have Dina talk their ears off about how wrong they are. Plus, she has to flush out all that frustration she never addresses somehow, right?
ROMANTIC
Outside of going on dates here and there and maybe one or two one-night-stands, Dina hasn't really had too much of a love life since she moved to Seattle. Granted, she recently got out of a pretty serious relationship just a year ago. She is a hopeless romantic, so she wants to be swept off of her feet eventually. Also, her mom is jumping down her throat to just settle down and have kids, so she's probably going to be putting that off as much as humanly people.

royce and brandie tandy were thrilled upon the birth of ezekiel thomas tandy and all the happiness he brought into the world. growing up, there was never a day that he doubted his parents love for him. they were attentive, kind, and never failed to make him feel as if he could anything.
he'd never thought much of the little things until at the age of ten, his parents sat him and his sister down and broke the most exciting news that he'd ever heard. he was going to have a little brother and in that moment, zeke swore he'd protect the youngest tandy no matter what.
of course, that's a heavy commitment to make at such a young age, but he would have sworn that nothing could have changed his mind on that. at first, he was as in awe of thaddeus as everyone else was. it was just another thing that he and his sister bonded over, but they welcomed the newest addition with open arms.
his self-made promise came with consequences that he could never expected. he knew what it was like to have their parents staring down at them, always talking about how one day, their children would do something big with their lives. it was a lot of pressure to take, and in hopes of thadd never having to shoulder that, zeke took it on for himself.
as he got older, he noticed that things were different for him. while he'd been forced to finish out every hobby he'd ever tried, his younger brother wasn't held to the same standard. even at the age of twenty, when all he wanted was to drop out of the boxing course he'd signed up for through school, his father refused. some would have argued that at the age of twenty, he had the right to do whatever the hell he wanted, but zeke was adamant on making his father proud, even if that meant learning to throw a punch he'd never land.
with a little guidance from his father, he knew there was only one route to take. if he wanted to be the perfect son his parents had put so much time and energy into, then he needed follow a plan. he put everything into law school, volunteered his time around the city in every government building that would take him, and when it came time to fly on his own, he pulled every string he could.
upon starting his law career, he was fortunate enough to be hired on as an assistant at the king county prosecutor's office. it wasn't his dream, but it was a foot in the door. he was able to dive into law and has since stepped into another role. currently, he is one of many prosecutors employed by the king county prosecutor's office.
the only thing that comes before work is family, but everything else comes second or doesn't hold a candle to his profession.

neighbors. zeke is a sudden valley resident and has lived there for about five years or so. he's known for hosting cookouts when the weather allows and has quite the friendly face. could be interested if someone owned the house next door and got to see the lesser seen sides of himself. the pacing through his home that can be seen through various open-curtain windows in the home, or someone who's had the luxury, or displeasure of hearing him taking a call from his backyard that got heated. could be fun!!
best friend. preferably, i'd like this connection to be someone's known for quite a long time. bonus points if they're close enough that this connection also has some kind of relationship with thadd. they'd know more about his family dynamic than he'd like, but that's the pro, or the con, of them being friends for as long as they've been.
fellow law associate(s). whether they're employed by the king county prosecutor's office or represent the opposite side of the courtroom, this could make for a good connection. bonus points if they've got a history of cases being tried against one another. which, is likely considering he's becoming the go-to name on the prosecuting side.
coffee companion. could be any muse that he has met, or will meet at a coffee shop. perhaps their orders were switched, or they swiped the wrong cup from the counter, but it leads to them seeing one another during their coffee breaks and can be built upon from there.
high school or college ex. someone who knew zeke before he was hired on at the king county office. how long this relationship lasted is completely up for discussion, but know that he ended things because he wasn't on the same page as her. he cared for her deeply, but he just didn't love her in the way that she claimed to love him. this was a bad breakup because rather than actually explain how he felt, he dropped the line 'we should see other people' and left it at that. could make for a fun connection, but would definitely require a lot of plotting.
