How in the world had Caelus ended up on his own? No one would know for sure, because they certainly hadn't planned on releasing him into the wild on a totally new planet (new to him, at least) like this.
Oh. There were the trash cans.
He was leaned down into one, pushing aside some trash after spotting something shiny, when someone spotted him.
"...is this your trash can?"

Gloria had been hesitant to leave Tessitura for this long; she’d only been away for a few days at most since she moved back, but the acting “boot camp” would be two weeks. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized it was something she wanted to do. Maybe nothing would come of it, but she felt like she’d regret passing up the opportunity more than she’d regret going.
At least she’d have some support; it was early enough in the season that Zimri could get away with going with her. They’d have evenings and the first weekend together to explore Capriccio City and see what it had to offer.
They’d gotten to the hotel a day early; there was a whole block of rooms set aside for those attending the class. She’d smiled and waved to those who greeted her but otherwise kept to herself until they got to the room.
“I forgot how tiring traveling is,” she said as she fell facedown on one of the beds.

Gloria had been hanging out at the farm all afternoon, just helping with the last minute prep for the party. And also trying to hype Rayna up for when Strell arrived.
“Come on, he’s your best friend,” Gloria said as she reached for one of the bowls and grabbed a berry. “Not like he’s going to make fun of you if he doesn’t feel the same way.”

It was the new year. Gloria hardly paid attention to dates right now, but she had at least known that. Which meant that today, January 1st, was her birthday.
Not that she really wanted to make any sort of big deal about it. If she had her say, she would stay upstairs all day. But her parents had asked her to watch the shop while they did some errands in the morning. So there she was when Zimri walked in. He was the first person to enter the store since opening; winter was always slow.
“Morning.” She put down her phone and directed her attention on him. “Rayna fob off going into town on you again?”

Coda had meant to go back to Andreas's place in the morning, but breakfast had him in its snare, and he had ended up staying much longer. He was still there when Zimri returned from town.
Coda paused for a moment. Then looked to Rayna. "He looks dopier than usual."

Strell had spent the afternoon taking care of one of the tractors on Rayna's family's farm. It wasn't broken this time, just needed some maintenance now that the weather was getting warmer and they had more opportunity to start planting.
"There we go." He'd practically crawled into the engine to get at what he needed to, and now he was covered in grease. "Should be good to go for the season, but you can always come get me or Dad if you need it."
@sewingsongs
With the aging equipment, it wasn't uncommon for Strell to end up at Rayna's farm just taking care of things a few times a week. It was his last stop for the day before he finished work this time. A heat wave to start off summer had hit, and Strell wiped at his brow.
"Thanks," he said with a smile when Rayna brought him a drink. "Gonna need to get out of the sun soon, huh?"
