Hello! I saw your lovely lolita outfit post with the handmade hat. If you don't mind, I was wondering if you could post more photos of it? Also, where did you get the base of the hat (the part that makes the general shape before it's decorated)? I absolutely adore Victorian-style large hats, and would love to make some myself. :) Thanks!

I-I’m super new to making hats so I’m not really acquainted with the proper method or historical method of making hats, especially not from scratch (´ A ` ;;) but I basically just modified a wide-brimmed sunhat of the ebay variety. the listing is here but there are tonnes like it listed haha. it was actually quite handy because that particular hat came with wire already sewn in to the brim, so I didn’t have to sew my own in. 

I was working while looking at tutorials like this one and this one which also just modify hats! I didn’t like the way the straw grain of the hat looked though, so I added some chiffon and lace around the edge uvu

sewingsunshine haha yay i was watching an award show and i noticed that all the men in suits were looking quite dapper. kind of like when we were in choir and the guys went from their jeans and tees to their choir suits and looked like way better though we females had to wear those nun tents and look way worse
