Supporting LGBTQ employees

Last Tuesday was definitely decisive for the entire LGBTQ community in the US. That is the three cases of fired employees were heard in the Supreme Court. Two gay men and one transgender decided to sue their former employers appealing to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The plantiffs were determined to prove that they were discriminated on the basis of sex. Nine Supreme Court judges examined the arguments for 3 hours and appeared to be closely divided when making a decision. 

 As it often happens, the struggle was between liberals and conservatives. While four liberal judges have agreed the employees were discriminated, four of their conservative counterparts didn’t find any reason to protect plaintiffs rights. The decisive favorable voice came from Justice Neil Gorsuch. “Sexual orientation is surely in play here. But isn’t sex also in play here?,” he asked, adding, “And isn’t that enough?”. The answer is clear: more than enough, but not for everyone. However, the job was done and this decision will hopefully start a new chapter of LGBTQ life in the US.

Let them stare

They stare because you look so strong.Because you look like you'll take over the world. They stare because they haven't seen a woman linger in their territory the way you do.You make them feel less important, when you walk pass them without paying them any attention.A woman not giving them attention, hurts their ego,makes them vulnerable. 

Keep going dearest. They're only afraid. Afraid that if you find your strength, you'll rule over them all. Its why they keep you covered. Because they're intimidated.

Walk like you'll conquer the world.

Don't pay heed.

Do what you gotta do. 

You'll make space for yourself in the world, just wait. You'll claim your place.

So let them stare while you're at it  :)
